We'll be hitting the Archdemon later and I still haven't decided if I'll take her with me. Tactically, it makes sense because she's a better rogue than Zev but I've never not taken her so I'm curious what her reaction will be.

I'd take her. Having that ranged DPS is actually really useful against the Archdemon, and in story terms, I kinda like having her as a more active figure in the Blight's defeat, rather than just waiting forlornly for the Warden to return.

 

I don't know if I've ever taken her with me to fight the archdemon. Archery is so weak in Origins (unless you're an NPC with Scattershot).

 

Archers are actually really good in Origins, but it's one of those things you really have to invest it. It's what TVTropes refers to as a "Magikarp Power"; they suck at lower levels, but get significantly more powerful as they level up. If nothing else, having her constantly whittle down the Archdemon's health is no small thing, as that sustained, reliable DPS is what archers are really good at.

she's built as a dual-dagger rogue. but for the Arch Demon, she'll be using Marjolaine's Recurve w/ Andraste's arrows, arrows of filth, elf flight arrows etc. i usually bite a good bit of the Arch Demons health with those ballistas so no real combat happens with my party unless the darkspawn come to us.

Every playthrough that I've done, I've taken Leliana to fight the Archdemon. Since I kill the Zevran, Leliana is the only rogue in my party if I'm not one as well. Besides that, its cool having a redhead fighting by my side.

I can't over the fact that the scene where Leliana sings in DAO looks romantic whether she is your LI or not.

The way she does it while looking into the Warden's eyes and standing so close to him seems so flirty.

I was a evil person one day (my last posts on here suggested further evil done to Leliana...) who killed her female Cousland who romanced Leliana cause her other Cousland was a coward who didn't want to die (okay, okay, she was a Alistair romance... And I hate hurting Alistair). So she died selflessly for her country. RIP Hunter Mahriel (the other dead Leliana romance) and Valory Cousland...

Leliana is not a Grey warden but she possess the resistance against the blight regardless of this little detail so all the benefits without the costs......... ok even more Mary sue!

 

To this point i wouldn't be surprised if she is  one of Andraste's secret heirs

Leliana is my second in command and I leave her in charge of the gate defense in some of my DA:O games. However, at this point she is a strong well equipped rogue.. I have use three  rogues and Morrigan to fight the AD and left Alistair in charge of the gate defense.

I always thought the song was something of a lost opportunity for a dramatic ending to Origins.  If you look at the lyrics in English, it's really an Elven death dirge -- the singer is saying good-bye to a dying old person or old friend.  I can't help but think Leli should be singing this tearfully over a fallen Grey Warden who made the ultimate sacrifice.  Even sadder if Leli was the GW's love interest.

It isn't a task you entrust to someone just because s/he is your best friend or lover, but whether they have the sort of experience and skill that helps.

Honestly, the only companion I ever choose to lead is Sten.

Yeah, for all her many virtues, Leliana isn't really a combat leader. That's not a mark against her, it just means that her strengths and talents lie in other areas.

I don't think I've ever not left Sten in charge. He just seems to make the most sense IMO.

I left Loghain in charge and gave Sten front row seats to how a Blight ends.

can't see that it makes a difference...anyone could hold that gate, you just need to know how to play with their particular skill set.

I was going to do an Awakening run just to get that letter from Leli...that dlc is really boring to me.
