Hmm. I've been thinking...
Do we know which part of Ferelden Leliana's family (and by that, I mean her mother) is from? I sure haven't found anything, but let's just say that it's pretty impossible for me to get my hands on WoT books.

It doesn't say.
I'd like to assume Denerim, just because many Orlesians like Cecilie would be more comfortable there. But who knows.

I don't believe it is ever said, or for that matter where in Orlais her father was from.
You might be able to rule out Highever. She never mentions it with the Human Noble Warden.
The only info on Leliana's mother in WoT Vol 2 is that her name was Oisine.
Which is funny, since it's a legendary Irish poet's name, but male.
And Leliana's story about Flemeth has a poet named Osen.

The mystery deepens
Legendary poet AND warrior. However, his name is spelled without an E.
Sure, but I think that's what they're evoking, more or less. Or at least, a tiny bit inspired by.
One thing I'll add to that.. and one of my favorite moments in the game. At the end, where Leliana says they'll form a legend of their own. And her skills kind of reflect that. Song of Courage becomes about the party's own exploits. She becomes less a bard and a subject of the story in her own right.
I would feel amazing killing Leli
She would come back as a Lyrium ghost and kill you with her killer thighs Goldeneye's Onatopp Style. Well, at least you will die in pleasure (and in pain) so it will be a good death.

Aaaaah, come ooooooon.
She's one of the cool kids.

So your saying Leliana is basically the Walking Dead now?
She is if the Warden kills her in DA:O.
The Trespasser DLC for DA:I implies that the Leliana you meet in subsequent games is basically some sort of lyrium ghost, if you're a bad person who actually imported a save where she was killed. ![]()

Easy for you to say, Undead Han.
I think her death is badly implemented. She wouldn't be searching for the Warden for the inquisitor role -- or Cassandra - if that was the case. I deleted my playthrough when I saw that. They might be openminded, but even they have their limits. lol
Just about everything with a douche Warden is badly implemented. Like Redcliffe builds a statue for them, regardless if you got them killed. It would have been a nice touch if there was an alternate map without the statue.. maybe some badmouthing from npcs.

I think it makes more sense that in a worldstate where Leliana "died" in the Temple of Sacred Ashes, one of the countless spirits we saw milling about in there ended up saving her life, or otherwise adopting her form and personality.
We've seen Spirits assume the identities of long-dead individuals to the point they even almost forget they aren't them, such as Cole, the spirit who comforted the dying Telanna in JOH, as well as the Guardian from Origins.
Since Wynne dies as well if brought along, in addition to the Guardian, there's two potential Spirits of Faith in proximity to her that might have saved her life or taken on her form in that scenario. The Guardian is the best bet, as in all canons he is said to have disappeared along with the Ashes by the time that Chantry forces arrived at the Temple.
Makes way more sense than some kind of "Lyrium Ghost"... whatever on Thedas that is supposed to be?
So is there an explanation why she is immune to the Blight? Or did I read Alexius' notes wrong?
Anyways.. I had taken a break for quite awhile, but just finished Hushed Whispers on a new playthrough. That mission is a good standout moment for Leliana.. It gives her an air of importance that we don't get to see enough in our regular adventuring.

All thanks to the Warden! Whom she traveled with!
I was thinking it was something inherent.. and they just didn't know it in DAO.

I've heard so many theories as to why Leliana is like that, i don't know by this point..

I don't think she's immune to the Blight, just naturally more resistant to it. The implication from the notes is she's not unique in this. Just unusual.
