Our Mabari was cured though.

Which makes me think about those flowers.... what the hell are the Wardens hiding?

Also, it looks exactly like Leliana's flower (Andraste's Grace), but I'll assume that's just limited graphics.

It might be a cure that only works on mabari.  Or an Ash Warrior secret unknown to outsiders (what do civilized folk have to learn from barbarians, after all?   )

First, no. I simply wondered if there was anything else out there prior to her explanation or anything that would have hinted toward that being the obvious connection. That's it.

Fair enough. Anyway, the answer to your question is that I don't think so. In retrospect it makes sense that the lyrium that consumes Meredith's body would be modified by the Blight, but I don't think there was enough evidence that that should have occurred to anyone until we were told.

Second, did you play/see Trespasser? Have you ever played/saw the various endings for Leliana? Therein lies your answer to what my "red LYRIUM ghost thing" is referencing.

So I'd guessed, but why red lyrium? As far as I know there's no reason to believe that form of lyrium had anything to do with her.

Which is why you go for option C: stab him in the face. :)

" I stab a b***ch in the face!!"

The temple of sacred ashes...found with red lyrium...that's where you can kill her...some have theorized this is how she survives and one of her endings in Trespasser lends some credence to that.

I thought the Red Lyrium was only there because Corypheus and the Breach. Not before.

Me too. And likely, that is true. I think it's a theory hanging around because that ending fits with what we know about red lyrium's effect...the voices and what not.

If it were true, I'm glad she didn't reach body horror stage upon consumption...had enough of that regarding In Hushed Whispers. Mufasa! *shudders*

It was the Orb?

I thought so.. or rather the result of the orb. The breach.

I could be wrong, of course.

Our Mabari was cured though.

The flower was to help the Mabari survive their exposure to darkspawn blood, the kennel master never said it was a cure. The Ash Warrior similiarly mentions being warned by the Wardens that "even the survivors go mad eventually", when talking about what will happen should their hounds get infected during the battle.

Our Dog is still infected with the darkspawn taint and will eventually die from it. All the flower did was seems to have slowed the rate of infection, making them only appear asymptomatic and "immune", similar to what happens when a Warden undergoes the Joining.

Well thanks for depressing me now :( :D

Damn.. even my dog is screwed.

I like to think Leliana took care of him though (my Warden died).

Yeah, I prefer to believe the Dog died of natural causes before they succumbed to ghoulification, otherwise it's depressing.

Also that wanting to find a way to prevent the Dog from succumbing to it's effects were what first motivated the Warden (if alive) to look more deeply into anything that could provide a cure, since that'd be beneficial to retired or aging Wardens as well.

Plus it amuses me to imagine Avernus (if alive) complaining "All this for a Dog!", whenever he's nagged for his latest research.

That's my headcanon and I'm sticking to it. :D

And people wonder why Leliana's pissed... at least in my case. The Dog died. Schmooples died. The Warden died. Wynne died. And now Justinia.

I like your headcanon. I might have to steal it if I go that route. ;)

Speaking of Leliana being stressed, that could have been an interesting twist on a romance for her. Rather than a light and fluffy romance like in Origins, the sum result of the Inquisitor's flirting is to end up being nothing more than a quick booty call for her, because she seriously needed to let off steam.

And before anyone crucifies me and says that's out-of-character... it's not for Hardened Leliana, that chick is all over the hot/crazy scale!

I've never even played with hardened Leli. I don't think I can.

It's like siding with the Werewolves.. I only FINALLY unlocked that achievement.

Bitter/Hardened Leliana might work in Inquisition if the Warden romanced her, died, and... you know, pretty much everyone nice died. Some solid as **** PTSD from Origins alone. And nothing to help it (ie no Schmooples, no Dog, no... nothing... just... Morrigan, really)

Yeah, that's how it works out for me. Warden died, so she's hardened anyways. That's interesting. I just don't want to do it myself while alive.

To me, it was the other way around. A positive influence on my Warden. My mains are pissed off elves.

I'm curious, does the Keep let you have the option to have a human!Kieran appear if you didn't romance Morrigan?

Because if so, the "Everyone's Dead, Dave" worldstate would get even worse if before they got together, a male Warden had a one night stand with Morrigan that conceived Kieran... meaning Leliana has to deal with not only the other woman in Inquisition, but also the lovechild of her dead boyfriend.

(It'd be awkward enough for her if the Warden is alive, imagine how bad it'd be if the Warden was dead?!)

I'll be honest... if Inquisition's Leliana were the one that joins our party in DAO, I would have romanced her in a heartbeat.

So badass, dangerous and sexy. I mean, look at those intense hawk eyes!

tumblr_inline_o6t9c5sgkH1t0ikyb_500.gif

Origins Leliana is a dry biscuit in comparison.

She's inspired in DAO.. and a bard. And a good counterbalance to Morrigan. I don't think that was a good time for the Bard to start singing dirge and metal songs just yet. ;)

Personally, I changed her in DAI too. It kind of hits home. I know what it's like to be angry at things around you and lose faith. It's not something a person should stick with.

Yeah, but even after Leliana is softened she doesn't revert to naive and fluffy. She retains that cool and collected attitude that seems to come from maturity.
