Yeah, but even after Leliana is softened she doesn't revert to naive and fluffy. She retains that cool and collected attitude that seems to come from maturity.

Just finished main quest and so nice to see Leliana with a smiling face. Oh , and she became the Divine.

In Trespasser if you made her divine, you can talk to minor npcs around, they are pretty much terrified of her.

So...I've never shipped Leli and Morrigan...EVER. but...AO3...that rabbit hole...took me to a fic with those two that I just can't unsee. Lordt.

So question to make this post somewhat legit: who do you ship with Leliana that may be...umm unconventional?

Warden/Leliana is my OTP (or one of them, at least), but I don't mind pairing her up with Bethany or Merrill. She's probably given Hawke a peck on the cheek once or twice too back in Lothering.

 

And on the subject of Warden/Leliana, I've finally completed and posted Chapter 18 of The Grey Path, which features more than a few fluffy moments between the two. Here's a small sample:

“Stop.” Her voice was barely more than a whisper, but wholly arresting, and Sagramor complied, an electric thrill passing up his arm as she took his hand in her own. “Sagramor, what happened back at the castle was not your fault. Your mind was not your own, and only a fool would condemn someone for things he did under such compulsion. The demon preyed on all of us, Connor included, and you are no more to blame than he is.”

“That doesn’t excuse that I—I almost--” The words lodged in his throat for a moment, too horrible to speak, all thought to a leader’s stoic dignity vanishing. “I almost hurt you. I almost…” The truth, too painful to be uttered, refused to be spoken.

“But you did not. You would not have even considered such an action were you were in control, I am certain of it,” the Orlesian girl assured him, giving voice to what he could not. “Your sense of guilt is understandable, Grey Warden, for any man would question himself after such an experience. But you are a good man, Sagramor Tabris. Believe in that, and forgive yourself, please, for me if no one else.”

Her words were a much-needed balm upon his soul, but even so, his misgivings lingered like battlefield carrion, hungry for wounds to dig into. “I fear you put too much faith in me, Leliana.”

“Do I? When the time came to decide Connor’s fate, did you cry out for his death? Did you demand he be struck down in recompense for the sorcery he inflicted on us? Did you fearfully offer up Arlessa Isolde to Jowan’s ritual rather than risk the abomination taking control again? No,” she reminded him, shaking her head softly. “You decided to save them both, even when other men would have taken the easier path. I can think of no one better to entrust my life to, or to see us safe through all the trials of a Blight.”

You know how people talk about casting Leliana in a movie and it's always actresses that look like her? What about people who sound like her?

 

I was watching season 2 of Daredevil and it struck me that Elodie Yung's voice reminded me of someone, and I think it's Corinne Kempa. They are both French actresses who moved to London, so they both have that English/French crossover voice, although the English bit is stronger in Yung. Obviously Yung, being half Cambodian with dark hair and eyes, doesn't look like the Leliana we know, but she could certainly handle the fight scenes...

 

At the least they could definitely get her to do some VA work as a kickass Orlesian in the next game...

I really like her with Josie, though I know they said that's not the kind of relationship they have. The awkward meeting in MotA makes me think she and Tallis may have had a fling at some point (though, honestly, that could have been anything). I do like the idea of young Bethany crushing on her in Lothering.

Otherwise I could see her developing something with Alistair in DAO, or I even think she and Harding could make a cute couple. And I think Leli and Zevran would have a great time in the sack, but I can't see them in a long-term relationship with each other.

edit: Oh, or Briala! They have a lot in common.

DAI Leliana, specifically. The fearsome and ruthless spymaster.

Personally, I'd never ship Leliana with anyone who isn't a female Hero of Ferelden.

Leliana is technically bisexual but the number of women she's been with is far greater.

The bisexual LIs that don't seem to favor one gender over the other are Merrill, Fenris, Josie and the Iron Bull.

I just rolled a CEF for Leliana and I'm still kind of annoyed that you can't tell Cyrion you don't want to get married 'cause you're gay. I mean, he would probably want you to regardless because he wants grandkids you to have an average life. But shouldn't the option be there? I think there's something similar in the HNF origin (like where you ought to be able to say something and you just... can't).

Might reroll a mage instead.

Yeah I felt the same. That's definitely an unfortunate limit to role-playing that origin. I mean, you can express extreme reluctance to the marriage but you can't say why and your character eventually goes with it.

Yeah. It's just weird because if you're playing a male City Elf who is romancing Zevran and you return to the alienage, Shianni brings up your failed wedding and Zev says, "Did they find out you were--" (and the toolset says "the end of this sentence is 'gay'"). So it's not like it completely passed anyone's mind that that could be a reason for your CE's reluctance...

Other people have mentioned that point, but I think it's ultimately irrelevant. The whole point of this marriage is to produce offspring, to shore up the Alienage's declining numbers. It's been made very clear in the lore that while no one particularly cares if you're gay in Thedas, you're still expected to do your duty when it comes to producing heirs.
