Sorry.
On topic? Leliana trash talking the Warden would be hilarious.
Or if they were reunited and she slapped him/her around asking where they had been... Oh wait, Red Dead Redemption did that.
(I'm a black cat! What do you expect?)
This
Which one is that? I only put two...
Oh, I meant the first one, sorry :/
Mmh... This kinda makes me hope that the Keep will allow for subtleties like infidelity in DAO. Just to add to the pile of misery: she fell in love with the Warden and he\she cheated on her. He, I'm a cruel and vile person, as someone pointed out. (I'm a black cat! What do you expect?)
That's cruel! But no, I don't think it will happen. There are so many variables that just checking if your Warden was friends, lovers or hated their guts would be more than enough. Remember that there are also a lot of quests that should be included in the decision chart. For example, I'm more worried about Marjolaine: will the Keep remember if we killed her, or spared her? Not to talk about hardening Leliana or not.
How about, never wanting to talk to/about the Warden ever again b/c they are a mage
Though it seems most around here don't play mage Wardens.
And talking about hardening, yes, that suggestion that Leliana would have a worse attitude towards mages because of what she went through looks like a way to harden her independently from the choices in DA:O.
Question: do we know which was Leliana's relationship with the Warden from Bioware's canon? You know, the Dalish girl who performed the ultimate sacrifice, described as "cynical, but her actions always benefitted others". In TME Leliana admitted that she had been comrade-in-arms with elves (Sketch, Zevran, the Warden it seems) and that she wouldn't see elves harmed.
Leliana... I miss you, but I don't know if you miss me. And I don't know what you'd wind up doing to my Warden... I hope Bioware won't betray us, but I'm nervous.

I'd be satisfied with 'Leliana doesn't die' at this point.

Leliana: "Oh we are so done. No more mages in my life!"
Sorry, sorry ![]()

Leliana already came back from the dead once; I was never too worried about that. Until you mentioned it just now.

Hellfire, I'd already decided against canonically being a blood mage because Bioware apparently can't realistically handle party interactions based on it; what more do you want from me, Leliana?
I'm going to go on a whim here and admit to not expecting a scenario as specific as Leli talking about her relationship with a mage Warden and actually acknowledging it, much less having it affect her views.
Would it be awesome? Sure, it would make 'importing' that much more meaningful. Do I see it happening? Nope.
As it is, Leli will probably be too busy thinking about the now than the past. We could get one conversation where she talks about her past relationship, but I *highly* doubt it would be THAT specific.

****. We have to know what the future between her and the Warden will be, one way or another.

We will. As soon as more pressing matters are dealt with. ![]()
Honestly though, I'm one of those who are more concerned about Leliana's sanity throughout DA:I than her past relationships. The E3 demo didn't exactly leave a hopeful impression as to her well-being.
I sometimes want to hold Leliana and give her a big hug. As I cannot do that, I want to write stupidly fluffy, lovey-dovey porn with Leliana and the Warden.
I wonder what combination of traits Leliana has that me vulnerable to that level of emotional manipulation. I can't see me reacting to Merrill or Isabela that way.
Same here, in fact for me she was part of a chain of events that led me to come out as bisexual to my close-friends. I was in denial about my feelings for other women for a looooong time.
Sometimes it's a bit embarrassing to think that a video game character would have that kind of influence on me, but I guess it's not that much different then a character from a book or movie.
Isabela is super hot tho...

Well... that I feel reasonably sure will remain intact. I don't think they'd screw her over like that.

I doubt they would just kill her off as well, but the cynical in me can't help it, ya know. Wouldn't be the first time they've done something like that (see: ME3).
We'll see...

I had a similar experience, though with Silk Fox from Jade Empire.
Or Jaheira from BG2...who wasn't an s/s romance option but I had the biggest crush on her and still do *ahem*

But Thane was dying anyway... there was at least some justification for it, even if flimsy. With Leliana it would be completely random.
Also, I always felt a bit closer to Merrill than Leliana; I love Leliana, but sometimes some of her religious aspects get on my nerves, like when she attributes the survival of a wounded Dalish in the Brecilian Forest to the Maker, then gets annoyed when Morrigan comments that maybe it was his own gods who protected him.

She does get a little annoying with that, but I get the impression that she is trying to convince herself rather than anyone else. She gets annoyed because it causes her to doubt herself. (This is purely speculation on my part.) The funny thing is that Morrigan is even preacier than both Leliana and Wynne. It's a different sermon, but the attitude is the same. Her tirade about love being a cancer sounds very preachy to me.

Wasn't just Thane, though. They did it with Mordin and Legion, both of which you could technically justify but I still felt were unnecessary.

I thought that was an interesting aspect of her personality myself. I don't necessarily agree with it, but it was evident in DA:O that Leliana's religious side was integral to her character.
Which brings me to something else... I do look forward to seeing how being religious still holds for Leli in DA:I, seeing as she has grown and developed quite a bit since then.

Well, Morrigan's full of crap, I won't deny that. But... is Leliana really so doubtful? Why would she be trying to convince herself?

Neither Mordin nor Legion were LIs.
And it's interesting, yes... and probably works better with my mage, whom I'd like to declare canon, but I just don't feel comfortable using as a blood mage now.

She's still very religious if the E3 demo is anything to go by. You can hear her pray as she shoots demons\Venatori. I think she says 'Darkness approaches. I am shielded by flame. Andraste protect me. Maker give me your strength.'

Well, I get that impression from her dialogue after dealing with Marjolaine. Maybe she didn't too many doubts, but after that debacle she was very uncertain and confused. I don't think she would have been so upset if there hadn't already been some seeds of doubt. Then again, that's just my interpretation.
Speaking of Marjolaine, am I the only one who wanted to say 'I did not expect someone named Marjolaine to be so insipid'. (if you don't get it, highlight after the colon): Marjolaine is the French name for marjoram, a spice

I thought they were doubts about her own path in life, not her religion.
I do harden her, but only because I want a threesome...

My point is it's possible regardless of her LI status. The fact that she's not a LI in DA:I also doesn't make it any easier.
Also, has blood magic been confirmed for DA:I? I haven't been following info about class specializations.

I actually missed that the first time I watched the demo as the audio quality wasn't the best, but good point. It's something to consider.

Did we ever get an official explanation to that? I hope they explain that in DA:I at least.
