She's in a long-term, monogamous relationship with my Warden.

I mean, I've apparently abandoned her in a time of political and spiritual upheaval, leaving her once again searching for companionship and direction in a hostile world, but my Warden will totally return to set things right and punish anyone who attempts to take advantage of Leliana's possibly vulnerable state.

 

Which is good. I'm not sure why people want rehash. 

 

She was an awesome romance, and there's no 'will she even be interested in a member of my gender.'

It would only be a rehash if that's the way they decided to make it; it's a decade on, the mission is completely different, and she seems to be back in the bard groove but on the Maker's side this time - there's plenty of new material for an entirely new character/romance arc.

 

I'm not really bothered one way or the other about it, I'm looking forward to her return because A) she's awesome, and B ) I'm hoping for some clues about my warden's situation, and neither of those require a new romance, but as a reason why it couldn't work the assumption that it would just be the same story arc with a new protagonist doesn't make sense to me.

and man, its going to be good having Leliana back. Can't wait to see what all she has to say about her home country. 

I was getting pretty fired up too thinking of the possibilities   It's so hard to say at this point who we may see, but I'm really looking forward to finding out.

 

And I agree completely about having Leliana back in the game, in a major role.  Orlais has probably changed a lot for her as well and I'm curious what her perspective would be.

I was a little disappointed that Leliana isn't a love interest but it does make sense she'd be unavailable because of the Warden. At the same time though perhaps they could have just circumvented the issue with making her available if she was no romanced. I'd have at least one Inquisitor ready in a world where she never romanced the Warden.

I don't think they'd have another writer for her, unless Sheryl was so packed with work she couldn't possibly find the time to write Leliana again. On that note, is Sheryl confirmed as a writer for any of the companions?
