People have been asking for unicorns in DA since the beginning. Knowing the devs and their sadistic senses of humor, I'm expecting something horrifying. Oh, I'm sure it will have a horn. I'm just terrified of where they're going to put it.

A unicorn mount sounds dangerous, just look what happened to Princess Kenny:

he mentipons them @ about 6:40
Well, they didn't recognize the lyrium at 2:35 or the red lyrium at 4:53, at 4:04 they confuse demons with darkspawn, and at 6:12 they confuse city elves with Dalish elves (neither being on screen at the moment to boot), proving once more that IGN is short for IGNorant, so I don't know how reliable that mention is. He may well have confused mere ideas BioWare had for mounts as being confirmed to be in the game.

But they did mention a lizard mount so the possibility to be a small man and ride a giant wyvern may still be in the cards.

Well, sure, there may well be a sizeable selection to choose from, but flying mounts are quite a stretch, don't you think?

They have wings... just not very big ones... The Wyverns are more like Giant Microraptors to be honest

A long time ago, when the Earth was green
There was more kinds of animals than you've ever seen
They'd run around free while the Earth was being born
And the loveliest of all was the bog unicorn.
There was green alligators and long-necked geese
Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees
Some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born
The loveliest of all was the bog unicorn

The Kangaroo would like to disagree...
he hears Bioware are looking for Romance options

Wyvern don't fly in Thedas.
I stand corrected. The wholly weird Thedosian dragon terminology apparently proves to be unusually hard for me to remember years after DA:O. This particular one strikes me as an extreme case of change for the mere sake of change, though. *shrug* Whatever.

What are you talking about about terminology... Male Dragons always had no wings, Wyverns were only seen in DA2...
Im confused

Dragonlings, drakes, dragons, high dragons, archdemons,... I see little rhyme or reason in the terminology. Or at least I did back then. While I still find it odd, other than the needlessly confusing term for the blighted Old Gods, it's certainly a conceivable reinterpretation of the dragon archetype.
Anyway, taking a look at the wiki, I see wyverns only every appeared in Mark of the Assassin. That explains how I didn't know about them. I only ever saw them on a couple of screenshots since I quickly purged DA2 from my HDD and never even considered granting them any more of my money for that travesty by purchasing DLC for it.

Kitten Marsh?
It's a reference to a conversation between Verric and Anders in DA2 about the Black Marsh in DA:A.

I'm thinking that thing will be pretty perfect for a Necromancer. Maybe a Qunari necromancer to be as horrifying as possible.
Although the image of that atrophied horse bearing the weight of someone like Iron Bull is pretty amusing.
