It seems like in the Fires Above Trailer, when Cassandra broke down the doors to the Warden keep, it is the same scene but at a later point in this trailer. Also, I think this has something to do with Corypheus and what the Wardens were doing in DA2.

Vigil's Keep
I'm not sure whether I would dread or look forward to trying to assault my Vigil's Keep, considering it became THE station of power and trade in the east, with its own order of skilled silver-clad knights, impenetrable dwarven-approved walls, overly volatile explosives, and Velanna/Sigrun/Nathaniel/Oghren.

I was extremely intrigued when I notice that also! Love all the theories going around here. Corypheus? The Architect? Politics? Are we attacking Vigil's Keep? (I would cry, but that might be where a HoF cameo would appear.)
Anyway, keep on, keepin' on. You guys are making my imagination run wild! ![]()

I'm actually a little worried for the Hawke siblings in the wardens now. Maybe they're more endangered than the Circle Mage and Templar versions of them. I doubt we'd see Bethany or Carver in the game, but maybe we'll hear about bad things happening to them.

If it is political I hope that there will be an option not to attack the Wardens. I quite like the order in general.
Of course it also depends on what they are up to in DA:I.

I'm not a big fan of the order in general but if we can avoid attacking them then all the beter. Only the Grey Wardens can stop a blight and I don't think much people outside the order know the secrets of how to create more Grey Wardens.
So killing off all the Wardens is not the best course of action if you ask me ![]()

I am not happy about it.
There's this nagging thought in the back of my mind that, whatever the story justification for it is, the meta reason they're having the Inquisition fight the Wardens is to show that however awesome the Wardens are, the Inquisition is that much more badass. That they're stronger, that they're better.
And considering that I am a huge fan of the Wardens and was looking forward to allying with them, and that several of my favorite characters are wardens and this may put me at odds with them, I don't like it.
Were I writing the story, the Wardens would stomp any attack on them by the Inquisition. The idea that they may end up looking weak only so that the Inquisition will look good may turn me against my own faction.

There are other ways to show that the Inquisition is badass than by having them fight the wardens.
Now I know people's opinion on the wardens varies, but speaking strickly for myself, having me kill off something I love is not the way to endear me to this new faction.

Thats totally understandable. I'm personally hoping we can ally with the Wardens too. I don't expect them to make the Wardens enemies no matter what.
We already have the Red Templars as enemy cannon fodder.

I imagine it is related to what Stroud or altenatively Alistair & other Wardens, were searching for in Kirkwall in DA2. I recall Gaider saying in response to one of my older posts that they are gonna get into that.

Well, if nothing else I'm going to be putting a lot of points into persuasion(assuming that's an option) in hopes of avoiding this.

Who know's, it may be just a "They have a nice piece of land, that would look so much better under my banner. All I got to do is kick out a bunch of bird-loven'-tainted freaks" You know, something to add to the "I'm a Jerk list"

In Dragon Age: Origins, players assumed the role of a Grey Warden. The Wardens are an ancient order sworn to selflessly protect the world from the Darkspawn menace, so they essentially embody the ideal fantasy heroes. And yet…it looks like the Inquisition is fighting against the Wardens in the trailer. “Your Inquisition forces are clearly storming this castle and killing Grey Wardens. We don’t want to give too much away, but we thought that was an interesting message.” Why would you be fighting these warriors? At a different point in our conversation, Lee also said, “You’ll experience multiple enemy factions, because whoever is pulling the strings here has been out to not only weaken enemy factions, but corrupt other ones.” He isn’t referring specifically to Grey Wardens in that case, but it explains why the Inquisitor might be at odds with some once-friendly faces.

Maybe it's Cory or the First Warden is being a ****** or the main antagonist has something to do with it, but until we play the game: this is all just speculation.

I hope the reason isn't because they've become more Political because Me and My Warden are all for that.. If they Seize the throne of The Anderfels I'd be glad.
I'd only oppose them if they decide to stand in direct opposition to The Inquisition and its goals, since they would have proven their idiocy.

Still not sure where the Wardens got enough people to go to all out war by themselves though, so I think something is up here.
They probably did what the crusading orders did: hire mercenaries, recruit regular soldiers, or use regular knights. They wouldn't be full on Grey Wardens, but that doesn't mean they can't fight for them.

I really, really, really don't want to fight the Grey Wardens, I love the Grey Wardens and forcing me to do battle with them without good cause is not somthing that would please me.
I just hope if you do have to fight them there is a good reason for it, and not because they want to force a depressing, no-win scenario, because that would be stupid.

Anyone who goes up against the player character is going to get crushed.
As far as the lore goes, they are still among the best warriors in Thedas.

Well true for pc but not for Inquisition it seems they are much stronger than wardens.

The Inquisition probably outnumbers them several times over.
There were only a few dozen Wardens in Ferelden at the start of DA:O, and a few hundred in Orlais. The Anderfels, the country with the largest concentration of Wardens, only has 1000.

I wonder how the Wardens we actually know are going to tie into this. Nathaniel, Oghren, Hawke sibling, (potentially) hell, our own Warden too I guess. I don't think any of them really had much knowledge on what the higher-ups of the organization were doing right from the beginning.
Still not sure where the Wardens got enough people to go to all out war by themselves though, so I think something is up here.
In DA 2, I found the conversation with Nathaniel in the Deep Roads intriguing:
Also the 'bigger problems' Stroud/Alistair mention they have to deal with during the Qunari attack in the city.
Then there is Sandal who seems to be able to just 'boom' Darkspawn into oblivion and he and Bodahn are off to Orlais by invitation of the Empress.
I also wonder if there is no longer a calling with the Grey Wardens regarding the endeavours of Avernus prolonging his own life whilst finding a cure for the taint.
'...But in future, experiment ethically'...my Warden had instructed him with a stern frown.
