According to Cassandra, he/she can. What's that supposed to mean?

And there was a blast and Inq's the only one who survived.

Looks like he/she entered into the Fade to escape the blast-- but how's that even possible? As we know, entering the Fade in physical form requires blood magic ritual and thousands of lives, but I doubt Inquisitor had time and enough of slaves to do that. So, does our protagonist possess some unknown power?

And what was that blast Cassandra mentioned? Did it cause that Big Veil Tear demons keep falling from?

Or...the  Inquisitor didn't walk in, he/she just came out....and mimmicked a mortal form and mortal memories (probably from one of the deceased)

a spirit or demon unaware of it's origin.

God, I hope that's not true. Unlike the Warden, I'll be happy sacrificing a character like this. They're worthless to me.

It's possible somebody planned this giant blast to sacrifice a lot of people and power up some spell.

And something went wrong or right  (?) and the Inquisitor gained access to the Fade and some new ability...

Can't be just dumb luck.

Edit I mean it can't be a coincidence , the moment the fade is tearing apart some random dude gain some special power to repair it.

I guess that could work for me if I'm Dalish. I don't care about anyone else's hope.

In the general sense, I mean. I'm sure I'll save the world and all that in the meantime. :P

Then again, such a possesed type of body would be abominable in the Dalish eyes. So not much Hope in the longrun.

Doors usually go both ways, so if demons can enter Thedas then it is only logical that we can go to the Fade the same way.

We have been told that the inquisitor won't be jumping in and out of the fade and that our fade experiences will be limited.

Interesting from the video.  Killing grey wardens and there are 13 characters around the map scene.

I just want to play someone fairly down to earth. And not "deluded into thinking it's down to earth".

Nope. The Inquisitor doesn't walk into the Fade, He struts in.

Then we wouldn't be the only one who survided. There'd be lots of people who made it through either.

I'm just waiting for the punchline to be that the Inquisitor died and was possessed. I wouldn't even lose my drink, monitor, and keyboard.

Way too epic.

That was a my theory from way back and the video just support it even more.

By the way, the trailer has Cassandra say that the Inquisitor remember nothing (aka RPG cliché #1: hero has memory loss).

Ugh. Damnit. I want to like this, but this kind of thing could be a dealbreaker. I'm still a big fan of the DA world, but I don't want to hate my own character...which is what will happen.

I think I'll just stop reading for now. lol

If it's true, it's a step back from DAO and DA2. Your characters in those games had homes/family/clans/context.

memory loss also means no background in general and possibly no side quests based on background.

They'll let just any shmuck of a player character walk into the Fade these days.

we could have been the only one who made it into the fade or the only one who wasn't killed the demons that would be most coming out form there, but until oct 7 we have no clue.

She states the Inquisitor has no idea how he survived. I doubt memory loss is even involved. Even if it is, it could just be the blast that's blacked out of his/her memory. That doesn't necessarily mean they forget their past.

Also, I doubt they'd go the 'really just a spirit taking on the appearance and memories of someone that died'. That's basically Prototype, only with a spirit instead of a symbiote or whatever. And probably a bunch of other stories too.

That's reaching.

Cassandra asks: "And you have no idea how you survived?"

That's not indicative of sweeping memory loss. The inquisitor may very well know who they are, but they may have blanked out or suppressed memories of the blast incident.

They may have no idea how they survived, but that's not to say that everything else has gone out the window.

I hope you're right.

It's just that... this kind of thing I want to really be a choice in roleplaying and not something i'm forced to play. I had different concepts for DAO, for example. Some were comfortable being a Spirit Warrior ---- It's cool to play a character like that, but it's a choice. Being some possessed person like Anders (and arguably Wynne) has different implications. Depending on my mood, I hate these kind of characters. I don't want to play one all the time.

That's assuming these theories have any weight to them. Here's hoping I get to just be a gifted individual at best.
