User

so is the deluxe edition of DAI essentially the collector's edition?

Mark Darrah ‏@BioMarkDarrah

Yes but we will have news on an uber edition soon.

Thinking I might have to wait on pre-ordering.  I want to go today.  I will wait it out.....and continue saving my pennies.

Definitely want to see all the offers from all the retailers before deciding...  :)

Go to Gamestop get it at midnight

This is what I'll do if it's possible. I don't particularly care for GameStop but the non-chain game shops in my area only do midnight releases for CoD-type games.

da2 was a midnight release, as was l.a. noire

Ages ago Mike suggested they could do multiple levels of special editions, something like a USD 100 tier, a USD 200-500 tier for the uber edition, and then something crazy like a few thousand for a super exclusive rare edition.

This was years ago in a collectors edition feedback thread, so plans have probably changed - but don't be surprised if there's more than one special edition on offer.

Project Eternity (Pillars of Eternity, whatever) did the same.

Hahahaha horse amour, its been how long since Oblivion and game companies are still charging extra for horsey amour.

I was annoyed that the UK doesn't have the physical deluxe edition for the PC, but I have to admit there's nothing currently on the lists that makes me go "I neeeed that" new amour (for both humans and horses) or weapons just doesn't make me want to pay £15-20 extra.

Extra characters or map areas? yeah sure I would pay £15-20 extra for that (pretty much the price of high end DLC, like Skyrim's Dawnguard or Dragonborn DLC)

I am interested to see what the 'bog unicorn' looks like, but again not £15-20 interested, I'm still reallllly looking forward to DA:I, can't wait for it, but I'll probably just be picking up the regular edition.

Those were kickstarter reward tiers not game editions, precisely.

I just want a digital "All Teh Swags" edition.  I only like digital stuff.  Real stuff gets dusty and eventually thrown away when I get tired of trying to find space for it.

so if i pre-ordered the deluxe edition, i can cancel it, and then buy the uber edition?

That's what I'm hoping I'll be able to do unless my retailer which is Gamestop allows me to upgrade the game.

Is it just me, or is it actually impossible to get a hard-copy version of the Deluxe Edition for PC in the UK?

Hmm for what i can see on the national vendor of my country the physical copy is in the end the digital deluxe if you preorder it.

Basicaly you obtain the same bonus.

Zero interest in any of the pre-order bonuses listed. Things like these only tend to make the game easier. I am pretty sure I will buy the game at the store around release day, though.

I don't like pre-order items which disturb the game's balance either, but I'd really like to get the digital soundtrack.

I find it very confusing:
* Amazon.co.uk hasn't updated its site yet, so I don't know what they're doing.
* Game.co.uk has the hard-copy Standard Edition available for PC, XBox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PS3. It also has Deluxe Edition available for XBox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PS3, but not for PC.
* Origin has the Deluxe Edition available for PC, but it's digital only.

I'm surprised at how much I want that bog unicorn. It would be my necromancer's trusty stead that he rose up from the dead.

Totally do-able.  Checked with my local GameStop this morning.  They said it's no problem at all to transfer the pre-order from the Deluxe to the Collector's edition once it gets announced and they have it in their system.

As far as we can tell, no we do not get a physical Deluxe Edition for the PC.

GAME.co.uk  (as usual) has exclusive rights to sell the Deluxe Editions on all other platforms (such as PS4) within the UK, so say Amazon.co.uk orrr ShopTo won't ever have it at all. Currently the only way to preorder within the UK is through EA's Origin as a digital version for £59.99 I believe --- which, somehow, even has its standard edition (£49.99) more expensive then a hard-copy from GAME (£39.99) which I still can't quite work out why........

Of course this might change in the coming months, I have no idea, not sure about the 'uber edition' but I wouldn't be surprised if the same happened (unless the uber edition has a statue/cloth map or something which theoretically means a hard copy, so GAME might have that for the PC) so basically we Brits will just have to wait and seeeeeeee

Unfortunately, I'll be out of the country without access to my console at the time this game comes out, probably for a full two months after. I'm preordering anyway, mostly because of the mounts, but it doesn't really matter when it arrives for me.

Thanks for clearing that up.
It's a shame, because I'd ideally like the the Uber Edition (and failing that, the Deluxe Edition), but if I can't *actually get it* ... Well, I'll have to go with the Standard Edition.
I'll wait and see before I preorder just yet. :(

I'm a bit confused, but does the Gamestop PC Dexluxe Edition come in a physical disc? The page doesn't mentioned that PC version as a digital download, but this talk of the Deluxe Edition being digital only is makig me reconsider my preorder. :/

I'm waiting until all the Pre-order information is out. I will likely get the Deluxe, depending on what's included in the Uber version. I don't care for having multiple pre-order exclusives for different stores.

But definitely will pre-order at least one version of it. Bog Unicorn got my attention.

I'm going to Pre-order (Partially, I only ever fully commit when some critical reviews come out), and hopefully make it to the Midnight.

As for the Pre-Order items, I share an opinion with Youtube Personality Totalbiscuit in that Pre-Order items should be aesthetic, not "Pay for Power"... This looks to be the latter, so I probably won't even be installing them. (I'll redeem the code just because they expire eventually)

I get the feeling EA has given exclusive distribution rights to certain retailers, or at least letting them get a timed exclusive pre-order window.

It's very strange to NOT even see the standard game being offered on Best Buy's website!
