Apologies for the title; you can see it for its sarcasm I hope.

Now I do have utmost faith in Bioware that later on we will be able to see different kinds of Inquisitor, but I am rather perplexed as to why such a great effort was made with the game cover and none made with the trailer to show different Inquisitors.

Yes, there was a different class which was nice, but so far we have seen no different race (with regards to either different human races or fantasy ones), nor sex of Inquisitor, and I just don't get why.

I really don't want to seem like I don't appreciate everything they have done - especially with dat cover - to leave the sex at least of the Inquisitor ambiguous, but when in every single gameplay video we have seen it is a white male human - when we know they they have made other Inquisitors, as can be seen from the save files when they loaded a save game last year - I'm just puzzled why they wouldn't take this chance to show the range of Inquisitors available.

Anyway, this thread will probably descend into all kinds of flame wars and trolling, but I just wanted to get my message across, that in a game that focuses so much on choice it's a shame that all public gameplay we have seen includes - to my knowledge at least - the exact same Inquisitor.

(I'm not going to bother to mention the 3/6 female/male split in companions as it's not entirely relevant, but I certainly found that disappointing too.)

Thanks for reading.

EDIT: Had to capitalise Inquisitor because I'm a fool and didn't to begin with.

Just as a note:

when we know they they have made other Inquisitors, as can be seen from the save files when they loaded a save game last year

This is not the evidence that you think it is.  When those saves were made, they were still all using the same player character model.  I still remember the first iteration of the female Qunari player character that... still had an effed up version of the male human head sticking out of her throat (complete with lip synch...)

While your concerns are fair, your belief that the player models all existed based on the save game screenshots isn't correct.  (Though feel free to be upset that we still went with male to start, since it is a valid concern)

Oh, I see, thank you for clearing that up.

So that removes my evidence that you have already created other player models and so could show them to us.

So does that mean that you haven't actually made the models yet? Because if you have, than the concern is just as valid :P

Considering we're only about 6 months from release, I would be a little surprised if you had only created the human male inquisitor, though.

Models do exist now.  The head morph system just got integrated not too long ago and is being iterated on - character creator does exist and I can create male/female of all the characters.  Now it needs to be amped up in fidelity and fixing the issues that exist so that they look good.  The Inquisitor you see is actually a full on custom body mesh, including the head.  This workflow won't be representative of the game.

At this time I *cannot* create the Inquisitor that we see in the trailers through the character creation screen (well, unless things have changed today).  It's not an issue so much of "do they exist" but "do they look good enough?"  Though it's valid to suggest that we could have spent some time making a custom female body mesh too.  Unfortunately I don't have any visibility on how long something like that takes, so I can only make suppositions as to why they didn't.

So does that mean that there might be a special human male inquisitor with a unique body mesh, a bit like how Sheploo was a 'special' manshep as it was uncreatable in the character creator? Or is that just a temp. model? Or perhaps all races.sexes will have a unique one?

Also, sorry for asking so many questions, and thanks for answering them. Damn my curiosity > :(

At this point there is a unique one.  I don't know if it will remain that way at release.
