And I counter you with the official game website:

http://www.dragonage.com/#!/en_US/home

None of that concept art exists there.

In fact, there are no images at all of a female inquisitor, or even any mention that you can play as a female inquisitor, or even as an inquisitor of a different race....

In fact, this is ALL it says about the Inquisitor Character under "Play Your Way"

How dare they!1!1 White is a racist skin tone and should not be selectable upon creation; only green, blue, purple, and burnt sienna!1!1

Now we just need the marketing folks to put some of these on the website and make clear those women are Inquisitors instead of avoiding to show any female Inquisitor whatsoever.

It's cool these concept arts exist, but I'd never seen those or known that all of them show Femquisitor if I wasn't a hardcore fan and forum lurker.

What does it matter? Is the game going to be less enjoyable for you because the little pre-release gameplay vids Bioware released so far didn't show your pet feature? Do you feel offended, are your feelings hurt?

I never said the game will be less enjoyable.

I'm pointing out that so far their advertising leaves out entirely the possibility of non-white non-male non-human inquisitors, which is true, and as such can be discussed.

If you don't think the topic of how a company goes about advertising their game is interesting and worthy of discussion, then why did you click on the thread?

Yes, I do feel offended. I have a right to feel that way. My feelings are not hurt, It's just disappointing considering Bioware is probably one of the most progressive companies when it comes to LGBT and women's issues and yet equal representation is still sorely lacking. It's true I will play the game regardless but I'm allowed to voice my concerns.

What?

This thread is mainly about women, not skin tone. And I'm not saying that it is bad that there has been a white male inquisitor. I'm saying it's disappointing that there has only been a white male inquisitor six months into advertising.

I'm not saying we haven't seen a Female Inquisitor at all, but we've definitely seen more of the Male at this point. Have we seen a trailer featuring a female yet? No? We have some concept art. It hardly feels equal, despite your well thought out counter-argument. I'm asking for equal representation in mainstream marketing, why is that a bad thing?

This isn't even the same point as before. Now you're arguing something completely different, going from, "I could have not known I could be a girl," to, "I want fair marketing." which wasn't even brought up. Then you went on to insult BioWare for thinking women are weak. If you're going to debate one thing, debate that.

AS to the rest, I'm responding to one person, not to this thread, which continues to scream out against a male character in marketing for a game that hasn't even begun properly marketing yet. We can make assumptions, or, instead, we can wait for BioWare to actually finish the game, which a dev has already stated they are only starting to do. Calm down.

Their advertising with vids leaves out TONS of the games features. That doesn't mean they don't or won't exist.

Sorely lacking compared to what? Bioware is doing a good job and making progress on that front with every new game and its still not enough. Other game developers don't care and their fans don't seem to complain as much as Bioware's. Greed is an ugly thing.

Nor am I saying that the ability to play as a woman won't exist.

And I'm of the opinion that this shouldn't be considered a "feature" nor should it be "left out."

I'm disappointed in the lack of Asiatic-Dwarf lesbians being promoted (which is none), I still played as one in the casteless Origins and these Inquisition trailers won't stop/discourage me from playing as one again.

Dudebro trailer is understandable. It introduces the world and the character to the masses. Gets the job done. That said, I'd rather see a drunken nug as Inquisitor in the next trailer than a dudebro.

Concerning the Trailer:

If they'd called the video "Combat in DA:I" and completely left out the mage class, people would rightfully discuss the absence of this class.

Calling the Video "The Inquisitor" and completely leaving out the possibility of customizing said inquisitor is a fair reason to discuss it.

Why couldn't the Inquisitor have been in a wheel chair too, in support of the handicapped?

Honestly I don't care if it's a white male Inquisitor or whatever.

I don't need any kind of advertising or any "lure" to get me to buy the game. I'm going to buy it period. I know I can play female characters. I know I can play different races. I don't mean to sound rude, but are we actually criticizing every aspect of this game, all the way to how they advertise their product?

As the consumer, I only care about one thing - the product. And I'm going to buy it, so job well done to Bioware for bringing me in, the customer.

So what about the new comers? Do they want to be informed through trailers about "ooh you can play either male or female!" Or be informed about how they can play different races? Maybe, but that's not my problem. That's Bioware's.

Oh boy. 99% of game developers must offend you to no end because Bioware is clearly one of the most active ones in equality, LGTB stuff and its still not enough and all is unfair. Greed is an ugly thing.

How ironic to claim that we're being greedy in the same sentence you openly admit that 99% of Game Developers pale in comparison to what BioWare does, even if they could use some work.

Because being handicapped isn't going to be a customisation option in the game and would thus render such a presentation false advertising?

And, y'know, there aren't wheelchairs in Dragon Age and all that.

Surely the fact that Bioware aspires to be excellent with regards to stuff like this means that it is even more worthy to point out how they could get better, especially as they would be more likely than most to actually listen?

Besides, I believe that in matters of equality, there is no such thing as greed. It's not greedy to desire people being equal.

Well, why don't you go to the decent threads and post something intelligent that people will want to respond to instead of making snide comments here.
