It has been confirmed that the Digital or Physical Deluxe Edition of Dragon Age: Inquisition is the Collector's Edition.

However, news of an Uber/Inquisitor's Edition will be announced with more details within the next few weeks. It's tempting to wait it out and see what this new edition entails, but I still haven't found any confirmation on whether you can upgrade to said edition if you pre-order the Digital or Physical Deluxe Edition today.

For those who are looking to simply pre-order the game on PC, Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, or PS3 go here:

SOURCE UPDATE:

We're getting lots of questions about a #DAI Collector's Edition. We hope to have news and details to report in the next few weeks on that!

SOURCE:

Lawrence Kenneth ‏@sporingl0  2h

so is the deluxe edition of DAI essentially the collector's edition?

Mark Darrah ‏@BioMarkDarrah  11m

yes but we will have news on an uber edition soon.

It shows $59.99 on my screen (just checked now).

I was debating whether to buy an Xbox One, PS4 or PC for this game. After much research and back-and-forth debating, I have decided that investing in a gaming PC (for the right price) will be far more rewarding, especially considering the following:

  • Again, for the right price (which isn't that much more than the current price of consoles), your PC will be much more powerful than an Xbox One or PS4
  • Possibility of modding the game - thus providing an endless amount of replay compared to the consoles
  • Can use a controller (if you prefer) to play the PC version (I don't remember if it was specifically an Xbox One/360, PS4/PS3 controller, or a combination of them all though)
  • I imagine your PC doesn't have to be hugely bulky, so it can compare in size to a console.
  • Easily upgrade-able years from now whereas consoles are not (you'd have to buy another "Slim" or "Elite")

I'm sure there are many more pros to PC gaming that I don't know about. :-)

for 2 reasons...
1. If you use the code provided in the standard edition Physical box you will unlock the Standard Edition in Origin - as such it trets them as having the exact same value as it is the exact same product as far as it is concerned...
2. Geoblocking - in Aus standard price on Origin is $79.99
basicly EA believes all their games should cost the same whether they are digital or physical

This is reminding me of Saints Row 4 all of the sudden with their multiple editions of the game.

I'm going to assume that, since the Digital Deluxe and Collector's Editions are the same, that the "uber" edition will have a physical item (or items). Right now all of the goodies are in-game only, which is really great, but not what buyers of special editions are accustomed to. Also, it is nice that they will have a couple of special versions, since there are people who may want all of the game goodies, but not care for the real world toys.

I am on the fence still with the PS4 and PC, if it plays like a tactical gritty version of Kingdoms of Amalur, I am down for a console this time around, otherwise I need money for a Gfx card update... FAST.

So there is normal, deluxe and eventually they will announce Uber edition. I only really care about game content, not statues or cloth maps, so I am not sure if I am uber enough for uber, I might just be deluxe.

Hm, are the prices displayed on Origin shown in your local currency?

Edit: They are. I just did the conversion; it's 55 USD.

according to this, there's an upcoming "Inquisitor's Edition," which I believe to be the uber version they are talking about. I hope the details will be out soon. I need to decide which to pre-order!

I'm interested in the Uber if a ) it's actually real and b ) it's high quality.

EA surprised me with the Uber edition for Titanfall (not that I personally have it). Maybe they could create something like that again. DAO, DA2, ME2&3 had pretty disappointing CEs.

Just updated/edited my post quoting you earlier. I listed a few more pros about playing it on the PC. :-) Otherwise, I'm confident that the tactical/isometric view (that was featured in the PC version of Dragon Age: Origins) will be available on all versions of Dragon Age: Inquisition, thus allowing you to play tactically wherever you decide to game on.

I'd say go console if you just want to play it as soon as you can. Otherwise, PC is definitely worth investing in not only for the long-haul, but for overall performance.

I dislike the design of everything but the mage staff in it. So I'd be a happy bunny if I can get a pack without the cost of that, but with everything else, in it.
