Just watched the new trailer. At the end, we see that handsome dude with a moustache and a staff behind his back. Rhys was handsome too, and known for a beard... DO YOU THINK, MAYBE?!
Rhys?!

They said we'd have at least one from Asunder, I recall. And that weird haired blonde dude looks nothing like how I imagined cole. He looks too brawny.

I'm actually thinking there's a good chance that Rhys'll be killed off early on.
The Breach opens at a peace summit- everyone's been assuming it's a summit for the mage-templar war, and it apparently has thousands in attendance. A gathering that large, it would make sense for Rhys to be there as a diplomat, in which case, he is no more.
Of course it could be a peace summit for the Orlesian civil war instead.

Where did you hear this? Or is this just speculation?

Well they announced that the veil tear that starts the game happens at a peace summit like...nine months ago or more.
Though they've never clarified(to my knowledge) what the peace summit was for, there are really only two options; the mage/templar war or the civil war.
So Rhys has a 50/50 shot, far as I can tell.

I doubt they'd kill Rhys before you even get to meet him. After all, if Cole is a companion, Rhys is really the only one who can tell you more about him. And not everyone will have read the books, so he's kinda necessary for Cole's past.
As for the summit, no doubt it's regarding the civil war, as they said the mage templar thing isn't the main theme.

It's Dorian, he has Tevinter symbols on his robes. Cole is the Asunder character they mentioned, and the blond rogue.
Funnily enough, that makes the survey 100% accurate. Both of those characters were listed as companions there.

Who says you won't get to meet him? You got to meet King Cailen, didn't you?
I'm betting we'll get to explore the summit before the Breach opens, talk to various NPCs there who may have been important figures in the book. That way, when the Breach opens and they all die, you'll have some attachment and feel some impact.
And maybe the mage/templar conflict isn't the main theme because everyone important involved in it died in the first hour of the game?

Considering most of the characters probably have the same body model, that's not saying much.

Because they've stated that the game starts when the veil rips open.

I hope not - I have no ounce of respect for him, he needed to have the mages meeting at the White Spire attacked and his girlfriend (Evangeline) die (well not really, his mother gave her live for her after all) in order to make him vote for secession from the chantry (and to fight in the end, after all, the templars forced the mages hands!)
No, it's most likely Dorian
who is that? - I only know of one Dorian and I would not want him near me (because the Guy treated the mage Fiona as a (sex-)slave and that would make me kill him on the spot, no warning given (if it's possible at the very least))
so who are you talking about?
greetings LAX

^ They're referencing the rumour info from way back, that wasn't entirely confirmed or denied. It was at the time, a set of potential party members.

Rhys more than likely isnt a Party member, and if he dies during the Peace Summit than probably no, but if he wasent at the peace summit to begin with i could see Rhys as an NPC, but not a Character. DHMG is the white robed man.

You have to concede, though, that if the blond guy is Cole and DHMG is Dorian, then the survey has been correct all along - which isn't surprising, given how late in development that information leaked. DHMG and Sera appear in the artwork section in the same order that Dorian and Sera appear in the bios, so I really have no reason to doubt its accuracy.

To address the fine lads who were wondering about the peace summit; here you go.
The Blast
Dragon Age fans already know about the breach in the sky. It is a giant tear that opens up into the Fade, the realm from which magic and demons originate. However, the trailer reveals that circumstances surrounding its appearance are catastrophic. Not only are thousands of people killed – they are thousands of important people. The blast accompanying the breach’s opening occurs during peace talks between the mages and the Chantry, so it takes out some key players. “The very highest level of both the Chantry and the mages were at these peace talks,” Lee says. “And they’re all dead. Those two factions are absolutely in chaos. Essentially, the head has been cut off of both groups.”
