Are you going to go to a release night event?  Stay up with some friends and get pizza? Have Cap'n Crunch on deck when you boot up this game?  What are you plans for this special day?

 

I know. Kind of a silly thing, but that's what being a fan is about, yeah?

 

I don't know about y'all, but I plan on taking a few AUTHORIZED days off of work to really get into this game. I did that with Mass Effect 3 and I was so glad I did.

 

I figure I'll get my copy in the late morning hours (hard copy shipment). So, I plan starting my day off by getting some cherry, pecan pancakes with a hash brown casserole ...about 3 cups of coffee from this local diner. With a belly full of goodness, I'll pop the disc in once I get it, crack open a good quadruple ale (probably a Trappistes Rochefort 10 or St. Bernardus Abt 12), let 'er warm up while the game installs and then sip away as I dig into this beast!

I will do what I usually do when I have waited a long time for a video game to be released. I will take a couple of days off work, pick it up midnight release, have tea/water and snacks on hand for munching and play until my eyes start burning. Then I will sleep for a few hours and do it all over again. Maybe take the time to eat an actual meal.

Depends. I'll probably take a personal day from work/push off college stuff and enjoy day 1 fun. It shall be a Dragon Age tradition for as long as new games come out.

 

Lol, when Origins got released I took the day off from high school and got food poisoning from some chicken. Ended up missing a whole week, had my controller in my hand the whole time and I was grumbling in front of the TV.

I will pre-order it and play it when it arrives. I'm not going to take time off work to play it. It will be there when I get home, and I will play it then.

October 7 is a Thuesday, but apparently in Europe release is the 10th which is Thursday, so I plan on a weekend all alone. No baths, no walks, no nothing.

 

Out and buy supplies and then back to my den.

 

Here's hoping I don't have any classes on the fridays of the next semester!

I will pick up my pre-order at midnight from GameStop so that first thing when I get up Tuesday morning, I can start playing it.

 

Just moved some paid vacation days off of work around so that I'm off Oct. 7th-10th, plus already off that weekend per my normal hours.

 

So, I'm mostly gonna drink beer and play this on my PS4. My husband will occasionally see me for meals and a few hours sleep, but otherwise I'm holing up in my Woman Cave™ for this one.

I have no idea. Because all I'll see is how the day is like in Thedas.

There probably won't be a midnight release here in Melbourne, and I do want a physical copy of the game. (Especially with the news of some kind of Uber Edition coming out. I am hoping for tchotchkes.)

 

So I will get up early on release day, so I can walk or ride the bus to Chadstone -  probably walk; I'll be all keyed up and it's not like I'll get much exercise the rest of the week. I will need to be there soon enough to grab a coffee and a Danish at Vini's before nine. By then, I will be standing outside my local game store, eating breakfast and waiting for them to roll up the big metal blind so I can get the game NOWNOWNOW.

 

For reasons too boring and sad to go into, I am not otherwise gainfully occupied at the moment and don't really expect to be before October, and the silver lining is that I then anticipate spending all day and all night and all week exploring Thedas. I'm planning to thoroughly clear my decks of any other business before then, fill the freezer with food and put the pizza delivery guy on speed dial. Bliss.

Well it comes out on Friday 10th in the UK, so I guess I'll have a day of not being able to concentrate at work, followed by a solid weekend of DAI.

 

Hell, since my contract is weird and runs out in October, I might use up the last of my leave for the game.

I'm in the UK so I'll get up at 5 in the morning of the 10th boot up mc pc start the download then head to work. Get back about 12:30 start playing the game and continue over the weekend see how far I can get by 23:00 Sunday. I'll get in a load on finger foods Pizza, Fried Chicken and the like plus loads of caffine drinks to keep me going for the 3 day marathon.

Uhm, being jealous at the people at the other side of the big pond from 7th till 10th. Then start the download as soon as it's available. Go to sleep for a little bit. and after that it's game on for the entire weekend. Did have had no plans for then till today, so now my agenda is filled with very sensible and productive plans to fill those day's with

I'm not going to go to a midnight release but I will be staying up for 48 hours and playing it until my hands fall off.

Spend some time being super jealous of the US who will get it 3 days before me.  Then I'll take the Friday is released off and probably the week after as well, spending the whole time in my pajamas, drinking tea and playing until my fingers ache.

I always play with the idea of a midnight release but am way too lazy/worried/don't want to deal with hassle to actually go. I pick up ASAP on release date.. afterwards, if I am busy until the evening, then I dote on the box like a small precious baby, look up random articles/photos/forum comments, and get spontaneously excited throughout the day. 

 

When it's game time.. I stock up on food/snacks, set some mood lighting, get the audio/video tweaked just right, AND THEN!!! 

 

... spend around 4 hours or so trying to make a character that 'feels right' haha. 

 

My first day or two with the game is usually creating a character over and over and over and replaying the first hour or two of the game repeatedly until I'm sick of it and just go "THIS GUY/GIRL IS GOOD ENOUGH." I don't seriously play until a few days later.

 

I have to get good vibes in order before I dive in fully.

And finally, it happened   Bioware planned one of their official releases for a game, DA; Inquisition, on October 10th 2014.
To as a Dane living in Denmark, Europe, this is  great news Why is this you ask? It is so because on Monday the 13th of October we'll have a week off from work. (or rather, I'll have a week off from work). And I'll probably be playing DA: Inquisition......I still have to work on the 10th of October, though, so maybe I'll get on October 11th or Monday October 13th. I also may have to upgrade my computer a bit...

I will hopefully have it be downloading while I sleep. I will then wake up, drink some irished coffees while the game installs and during the 4 hours it takes me to create a character I'm okay with the looks of, and then do nothing, not even sleep again until I have completed the game once. I will subsist off of beer, diet coke, and oreo cookies.

 

I will then sleep.

Wake up, and start a slower more thoughtful playthrough.

 

I will be taking a week off of work.

If the hubs and the mite are at home for that week, I will be getting a hotel room. Hopefully I can send them to the in-laws for the week though.

 

It is my return present from the hubs for his week's long guys Master's event every April.

 

And I will be able to pull the "It's your anniversary gift to me" card on top of it....since it drops on our anniversary.

 

 

(oh, and if the hubs and the mite are home.....he's just going to have to live with me connecting my laptop to the only TV we have in the house while I play....this just looks too pretty to be played on a 17 inch screen.)
