If thereis a midnight release I will be there. Play it till my lady friend wakes up and we have breakfast together. She will go off to work , if she wants too. I'll play throughout the day. We will go out for dinner and when we get back, we make each other smile  . I will go back to playing DAI and she will eventually go to bed.

Nothing different. Pretty much a regular day for me.

I'll not make any plans for the weekend whatsoever. On the D-day I will probably spend 5 hours on the character design. When that is done I will eat something like fries and meat with garlicbutter? Then it's time to deepdive into the world of Thedas and eat snacks and chocolate while crying about how amazing the game is.

After I send my kids off to school I'll probably play until it's time to pick them up.

That depends.  I'm not committing to preorder until we know more about online/MP component and if/how it affects SP.  So, either

A. Taking the day off and starting Inquisitor Alec Trevelyan's reign, or

B. Going in to work, hitting the half-off sushi rolls after that, and then checking the forums and other media for feedback on the game.

Being in the US, and it releasing midnight on a Tuesday, I haven't decided yet whether I will take off Tues,Wed, return to work Thurs, Fri, then have the weekend off, or if I will just try to hold out and take off Thursday, Friday so I can have a 5 day binger (would take off more days, but I already have those PTO days reserved for other, less epic things  :( ).

Regardless, after getting off work Monday, I will prob head out to the bar with friends/wife to hang out for awhile before going to the midnight release at my local Gamestop in Charlotte,NC. From there, as others have said, it will consist of spending hours trying to create the perfect character (because the first time has to be just right you know!?) followed by days of bliss (+pizza, beer, deliciousness)

Also Three Philosophers will definitely be my jam  ;)

If I do anything, I'll probably end up doing the same thing I did for Dark Souls 2 if there's a midnight release. I'll go there, get the game come midnight, play until I can't focus anymore then the next few days of classes become a very blurry bog of me rambling about the game to anyone who sits close to me. Then rush home and repeat the process after finishing up any household needs that are required, and hiss at anyone who makes puppy eyes for the big tv.

Rinse repeat for about five weeks if the game is good.

7th - job, side projects, the usual

9th - same. DA:I release

10th 5pm - pizza, coffee, disconnected/turned off phone, and me - drooling in gamer's cave, wearing smallclothes, growling at ppl visiting me in the following 2 weeks. my newlywed husband will probably be next room, doing exactly the same

I'm taking the week off from work. Staycation to play DA:I!

I'm such a femgeek!

I'll explain to my loved ones and friends that I can't be bothered to come over and hang. They all know me and will think I'm crazy, but they'll understand.

I'm blessed to have really cool family/friends.

It's looking bad, I'll have two different games to play one being DA:I. But magically, I already know I'm going to be sick that week so I won't have to go in to work ;)

Step One: Get home from school and dance around the computer. Ignore mother's odd stares.

Step Two: Download. Hope it doesn't turn out like DA2 and ME3 where I got an error preventing me from opening the game after installation.

Step Three: Tell myself I won't play until Friday.

Step Four: Break down and play right away. If I get the error, then cry.

Step Five: Three weeks later, try to remember who my friends and family are.

Downloading will be a pain. Does Origin have pre-loading?

Anyways, I'll take my remaining days off from work.

That's a week of playing / going to classes / sleeping some / back to playing.

Is the release date for Europe the 10th even if you've ordered the digital version?

Yes it does. At least it did for Titanfall. I would assume the same would be available for DA:I.

Yes. Unless you get a VPN somewhere in the US to trick Origin into thinking you are there. Though this isn't advised.

I plan on trying the nearly limitless patience of my amazingly patient gamer widow-wife by obsessing over creating and playing another of my "digital dolls," as she calls them.  On the upside, usually the banter and story of the average Bioware game convince her to sit down as a spectator for my game sessions. :P

We need to start a support group for our gamer-widow/er SOs.

  1. Pre-order game, but skip midnight release for early-morning pickup.
  2. Take the 7th, 8th off, and play reasonable amounts both days.
  3. Thoroughly, carefully experience....

Dammit, who am I kidding?

  1. Pick game up at midnight
  2. Play to 6AM or until eyes bleed
  3. Sleep 4-5 hours, and resume, with eye blood or not
  4. Continue cycle for next 2 days until completely useless
  5. Walk around in fog during work Thursday and Friday
  6. Resume Friday night

Can't wait.

Well yesterday I requested Oct 6th - 10th off from work...I figured I'd take Monday off because I'll be too excited to focus properly at my job. Plus that way I can go to the midnight release, pick up the game and play all week/weekend long! Maybe I'll find some time to eat...maybe.

The beer distributor down the street sells three of the Variety packs together as a 24-case. The honors of "beer I'm drinking when epic start screen music plays" will be Three Philosophers. B)

I love that beer so hard

I'm going to a night release, gonna have a ton of snacks, and play in my sleeping clothes.

I'll only stop when I'm so tired I can't see straight.  :P

Not to be culturally insensitive, but...you're serious about hunting goats and building houses?  You're not talking about Skyrim Hearthfire DLC, right

I am a bonafide subsistence hunter, yes. And I'm hoping to build a house this fall, depending on how rich I am (as in not rich at all). But one can squeak by with a small log cabin.

I'll be doing birthday things, because October 7th is my birthday!
(aka playing DA:I all day.)
