So which conflict is the peace summit for?

I'm still not sure how Lambert can survive the end of Asunder, honestly. Though I'm equally confused as to why they'd kill him off there, as well.

I don't think Rhys will die. He's the only one who knows the secret of how to reverse Tranquility.

Can anyone confirm the rumour that the breach opens above the Temple of the Sacred Ashes?

Certainly looks like that location from the mountains and the ruins, as well as having the significance for various groups to meet there in peace talks?

As a point, he doesn't know how, or at least didn't by the end of Asunder. He explicitly admits that he never learned the ritual in his own inner monologue.

If he has figured it out, I see no reason why he'd keep that information to himself and not share it with other members of the mage resistance.

I haven't heard that rumor; I've heard it takes place at a Grey Warden fortress. The Wardens make sense as hosts, being politically neutral; the mages would also be more inclined to trust a meeting on Warden ground, as they lean towards mage freedom.

It's confirmed in that article that the conference takes place at the Temple of Sacred Ashes.  Mysterious location even more mysterious now...

And my Warden knew it was a bad idea to tell anyone about the place...  But would they listen? Noooooo...

Seems like a really weird place to have a peace conference. It wasn't exactly easy to get to.

I bet it's become more accessible since becoming a pilgrimage site.

Would the various Heads of States and Governments be attending such a summit such as Celene or Alistair/Anora/Alinora, or will there be a contrived reason why they weren't there such as deciding to stop at a highway services to buy sausage rolls? I suppose it would get rid of the problem of having different monarchs for Ferelden (will there be another find new king quest?), and introduce another secret lovechild of Maric (or will the Landsmeet prefer stability, and choose someone of a different line instead)

At the very least evidence points to Celene not being there.

There's also not a real reason for Alistair or Anora to be there, either; it's within their boarders, but international affair or no, the mage/templar war is ultimately a matter of chantry law, not any national law.

I guess deals with Kolgrim/the Dragon not being dead will be handwaved, then?

Well I just hope they don't pull a Revan on us, you know "I was there, to blow up stuff. Now I can't remember"

I killed Genitivi in my playthroughs, so the fact that people found the temple anyway gives me a 'meh', feeling.

That's true. The idea of the Inquisitor literally walking out of a breach in the Veil is... enormously meaningful for Chantry doctrine.

I don't get it though... are we at the peace conference? Did we only emerge after the attack? If the Inquisitor has a nonplayable background per class, did that actually exist in the real world or is it some kind of false memory? Are we alive and did we have a life before the attack, or were we created as a side effect of it?

If the peace conference was a gathering of people from all over Thedas, it becomes easier to imagine that any variation of Inquisitor could've been there to attend before the attack.

I remember the dev saying that we play a bit before the Breach occur (or I misunderstood something they said, that's possible too). Qunari, Dwarf can easily be hired mercenaries by the Chantry (well maybe not mage-Qunari, they would be in the mage camp). Dalish stood out has "you shouldn't be here" to me, they really have no link with the Mage/Templar war, so I don't know why they would be there. Humans can be in either camp easily.

The really interesting part is that it seems like the Breach occur, kill thousands, than Cassandra come over to investigate and the PC comes out of the Fade hours if not days after the event to be found by "our soldiers" (Cassandra's soldiers). Adding the memory loss of the event and the shard stuck in their hand, it does suggest something happened to the character beside ducking the explosion.

I always had a KoTOR's vibe from the few things we know about the game, but I expect a much different twist. The PC will not be Andraste's reborn even if everyone believes that (it is the Templar of her Sacred Ashes...).

Oh and everyone find it amusing that there is actually two people who might have been resurrected at the Temple of Sacred Ashes and the other one is the spymaster of the Inquisition (only happen if Leliana was killed in DAO at the spot, but still).

In some playthroughs I didn't even kill the high dragon.

Mark Darrah said it was for the Mage-Templar war so there's your answer. Several key magisters and Templars are gonna die. Heads will be rolling! ;-)

Those cameos still work.

They're just going to be rather brief and they'll all end the same way.

Im hoping the game starts with you attending the Summit and it being like Ostagar, you can walk around and talk to important people before the official meeting takes place...And then the crap hits the fan, maybe have you Inquisitor fighting demons etc. While trying to escape

Maybe the Inquisitor is...the Maker!

That would be fulfilling demands from players for more agency to a pretty extreme extent :P

I like that the existence of the Maker is still ambiguous and a matter of belief in DA. Even in a universe with magic, it's nice that there aren't literal gods with superpowers who spend their time interfering in the affairs of mortals.

If the inquisitor is the Maker, I would hope for a more interesting array of special powers than what amounts to opening and closing doors.

So long as Fiona dies, I'm happy.

Why?
