Why?
Because I rather despise Fiona on a personal level.

Because I rather despise Fiona on a personal level.
Which is weird since she doesn't do anything deserving of any real hate. She wants her people to have better lives. Oh, the horror!
At least she doesn't murder people like Adrian to do it.
I killed Genitivi in my playthroughs, so the fact that people found the temple anyway gives me a 'meh', feeling.
I never let him up the temple. I make him go home.
Because I rather despise Fiona on a personal level.
Why do you hate her? She was a tortured person.

I can respect her on an ideological level, but on the meta level, I despise her.
Really has more to do with her atrocious portrayal in The Calling, really. She was among the least likeable characters in an unlikeable book, and the fact that DG obviously wanted the reader to like her so bad only made her more unlikeable for me.
Didn't much mind her at all in Asunder, aside from the fact that her presence and role in that book made no sense.
Why?
She's an annoying Mary Sue that also was ruffling the templars jimmies to get a response. Adrian and her dying early in the game is a good thing, sad for the Divine but at least that explains why Leli and Cass are helping the PC>
SPOILER ALERT
If I remember correctly Cole knows he is a demon? How is this going to play out?
I remember the dev saying that we play a bit before the Breach occur (or I misunderstood something they said, that's possible too). Qunari, Dwarf can easily be hired mercenaries by the Chantry (well maybe not mage-Qunari, they would be in the mage camp). Dalish stood out has "you shouldn't be here" to me, they really have no link with the Mage/Templar war, so I don't know why they would be there. Humans can be in either camp easily.
The really interesting part is that it seems like the Breach occur, kill thousands, than Cassandra come over to investigate and the PC comes out of the Fade hours if not days after the event to be found by "our soldiers" (Cassandra's soldiers). Adding the memory loss of the event and the shard stuck in their hand, it does suggest something happened to the character beside ducking the explosion.
I always had a KoTOR's vibe from the few things we know about the game, but I expect a much different twist. The PC will not be Andraste's reborn even if everyone believes that (it is the Templar of her Sacred Ashes...).
Oh and everyone find it amusing that there is actually two people who might have been resurrected at the Temple of Sacred Ashes and the other one is the spymaster of the Inquisition (only happen if Leliana was killed in DAO at the spot, but still).
I could see that work in our favour nontheless ![]()
"ITS THE MESSIAH! THE MESSIAH IS HERE!"
Why do you hate her? She was a tortured person.
Because her torture was a cheap tool to garner sympathy for her and excuse her caustic behavior. Her opinions on human nobles existed solely for Maric to prove them wrong with his heroism. Her "romance" with Maric was painfully forced, a disgusting display of belligerence being used as short hand and a mask for two people who had no chemistry, made worse by the fact that DG can do so much better. And don't even get me started on the implications of her emotional scars being healed my Maric's magic penis.
Then she gets to be the one warden cured of the taint, and then she's heavily implied to be Alistair's mother even though it makes no sense on multiple levels, and then she becomes Grand Enchantress of the circles despite the fact that her central conflict was closer to elven oppression rather than mage oppression, and how she was completely lacking in leadership skills so her rising to that position didn't make much in the way of sense, either.

I see that book wasn't my favorite as well.
Isn't Fiona that grey Warden that some how managed to never go through the calling and gave Marric their unborn child? which may or may not be Alistair? i could see why she is unlieable...hell i dont like her just from Asunder, she deliberatly poked the Bear that is the Templar Order.

Now I see. That made me laugh. I was pretty tired of Marc and her now that I think of it.
Great Post
Oh, I expect Adrian's going to survive if Fiona doesn't. She'll be a leader for a bunch of off kilter libertarians. She's an annoying Mary Sue that also was ruffling the templars jimmies to get a response. So, yea, not a fan.
I'm a pessimist at heart, so I'm pretty confident DA:I will fare similary to ME3.
Some forboding signs are already here.
First, the departure from the original plan - we were only supposed to have a human protagonist (which kinda makes sense), but because people wanted race choice, they crowbared race choice in. Not to mention some people hate either chantry or religion in general, so they musn't be forced to associate with them.
So now you can have qunari heretics leading the Inquisition, and everyone jumping aboard the bandwagon because of plot.
Yeah, I have my doubt the devs will manage to dig themsleves out of that hole. Let alone the others.

How are the Qunari heretics? The Qunari Inquisitors are Vashoth.

....I'm not entirely sure what that has to do with anything, but ok.
As for the Fiona discussion, I like her and hope she lives.

This for all we know the Qunari's Inq's parents are andrastians (that'd be a hilarious twist if nothing else).
Truth be told, I would prefer Fiona's fate be optional.
Both so her fans can have their way and let her live, and so I can kill her myself.
Well isn't fiona grand enchanter? pretty much she would be at such conference it would be meaningless... so rather she and divine should be dead in the first place.

Not necessarily. You never send all your leaders to one place in case that if this exact thing happens, your force isn't thrown into a leaderless chaos.
And yet that seems to be exactly what's happened.

To be fair one is excused for not preparing for a giant fade breach to decimate all your forces.

Well i don't think that someone thought about veil then sure we have anders bomb but rather to that conference meant something it would take heads of organzations and it pretty much confirms thad divine is dead as chantry is without leader (thanks good that will spare me a job with killing her) about fiona well unless she said chantry and divine "screw ya" and other mages took initiative she should be dead.
To be honest i wonder how the hell ashes were found if you killed that old bastard just so they couldn't found them , spared cultist with dragon and didn't had any companion safe for alistair that you could kill...
