Tbh with you, with a "childlike" mentality, I agree.

However if he was a LI, then his writer clearly feels he's ready for it, and I'd be ok with romancing him if even his writer thought it was ok enough to implement it. Because a writer sure as hell wouldn't want a childlike follower to be romancable.

I personally do not think Cole will be a LI, but hey. Doesn't hurt to speculate, right? (:

I'd find a romance with a displaced spirit fascinating, but if that isn't the story he's meant to tell, that's fine. He's fascinating either way

The inquisitor can be UP to 40, sure. It's completely upto the player how they want to play, and who they want to play as.

And yeah.. his looks certainly aren't inviting. (:

I'm relatively ambivalent about him being a LI at this point. But the important part is let's not be hostile to people with the opposite view of his possibility of being a LI. Civil discussion is fine, but throwing insults is a good way to get this thread locked or purged or banned or whatever else. Let's try to avoid that.

I think Cassandra is supposed to be in her late 30s or 40s and she is a confirmed LI. And you can make your character appear to be from roughly 20-40 years old. The age part of this conversation is irrelevant simply because of the other examples of LIs.

I had read Asunder right when it came out and then when I found out Cole might be a companion I really hoped he wouldn’t. But after they confirmed it and released info about him I’m really excited about him. I was worried he was going to be the an extremely self pitying and even more psycho version of Anders but he seems really cool from all the info that’s been released about him. I love that he just wants to help people, even if they never remember him or thank him.

Somebody being 20 dating someone who's 40 isn't shocking.

The problem with Cole is , he's not a 20 something kid ...he's a spirit who probably has no sexual drive .

In Asunder , he's alone and scared , and needs friends.

He doesn't need or want romance or sex.

Yeah the potential problematic issues with a cole romance are not because he looks early 20s and inquisitor can be 40 inquisitor can be 20 and cassandra, a confirmed LI, is 35-40 and nobody decries that as problematic 

 

context to this post: I am not in Camp Romance Cole.

This is why the LI possibility is being brought up again. Cole has changed since Asunder.

This is a really silly reason. I think Iron Bull is aesthetically unpleasant, but it's certainly not "sick" to me if other people disagree. That's just personal aesthetic taste and there's absolutely nothing wrong with disagreeing. Your Inquisitor can be anywhere from 19-40, they said. If you think young adults with older adults is wrong, then basically everyone is "wrong" for an LI at some point on the spectrum.

I don't think Cole will be a romance, but the general message seems to be that we should just chill.  It was getting ugly in here yesterday...  I was missing the friendly Cole thread.
