Freedom of speech means that you can't be jailed for expressing an opinion. It has f-all to do with an argument on a fictional character's looks on a forum.   Just as you have the right to express your opinion, other posters have the right to disagree and make counter-arguments.

The first time I saw that hat in the E3 trailer.. I thought "poor guy.. looks like he crashed his kite". Now I've seen a closeup, I adore it. I'm definitely making him wear it.

I love his ridiculous hat. He is going to wear that hat forever on my team. I don't care if it doesn't have any bonuses, he will wear it until the end game.

I am sure bioware will give the hat +5 all attributes 20% resistance to everything and improves with level up. I will have no choice

Healthiness being a major attraction factor and illness being a major turn off are not opinions. They're quite proven facts
You may find a stump sexy, personal quirks are why we all have different fetishes and tastes. But some thing are more ancient and biology-related than personal preferences will ever be. Denying them won't make them disappear

It's a good rule of thumb to just ignore people that are being inflammatory/hostile/severely judgmental and simply don't reply to them. That tends to end those tangents of conversations fairly quickly (I observed us doing that a lot very early on in this thread and it worked wonders).

 

As far as that hat goes though...I don't know. It's looks really stupid but...some part of me says that Cole probably loves that ugly thing and I couldn't take it away from him and make him upset.

...now that I think about it, those two have a lot in common.

 

Childlike, feared for being unnatural beings (Cole being a spirit/demon and Vivi being a Black Mage. Their powers don't help this matter), both childlike and innocent, good-natured and both start off easily frightened, but grow into stronger characters with courage and a desire to help people.

I don't think Cole actually has the taint, as we know it. I think it's probably just something to do with his partially demonic nature. Spirits can hear lyrium "sing" and I wonder how they react to red lyrium. I've thought for a while that all this stuff could link up somehow, since it always come back to music. When Cole heard the song, he didn't find it appealing or tempting at all, but the darkspawn and tainted are drawn towards it. The spirits supposedly stay away from the Black City.

Maybe not all the time, but he will wear The Hat 2: Electric Boogaloo now and then.    It's so ugly it's cute.  And he's so pale, it's probably a good idea for him to wear a hat.  Kinda wonder if Solas can wear hats so my whole party can run around in epic hats.

I happen to love monsters including the physical monsterish qualities. Digital Devil Saga is one of my favorite games ever for this reason.

Also I'm 21 so I don't understand the freak out about romancing someone that is 20, doesn't seem like a very good argument to me. Not everyone is old. There's plenty of old men to dote over this time.

Didn't the devs say that every character has a certain "Style" and certain gear will look different on who it's on or something? I'm thinking Cole must really love that hat...

No...I plan on stealing that hat!! It is my ultimate goal to have my Inquisitor have a hat more glorious than every one else's. Which is going to be hard knowing the hat-history in Thedas. 0-<
