@Chari yes it seems there are many people that are bashing Sera for many reasons. Personally her referring to Cole as "it" surprised me at first but I am willing to give Sera the benefit of the doubt. We do not even know if that is her long lasting impression or initial reaction upon meeting Cole. I do not support those who bash on her based upon the tiny information we have on her.

Well, we'll be able to mix and match stats and looks of (even segments of, but I kind of doubt that goes for headwear) equippable items to our heart's content, so I'm sure you'll be able to make him an über-copy of that adorable fashion disaster.I love his ridiculous hat. He is going to wear that hat forever on my team. I don't care if it doesn't have any bonuses, he will wear it until the end game.
Maybe if Sera grows to like Cole later, she'll give him a stylish haircut as a token of friendship and a means of showing how sorry she is?

Also, based on both of their descriptions, am I the only one who thinks that Cole would like Sera even if she refuses to acknowledge him? She seems like his type of person. If that's how their relationship is, that will break my heart! 
Felt like I should contribute something here about how Cole looks in the latest picture. Yes, he is very pale but no, that does not automatically make him look unhealthy, suffering from a terminal disease. I come from a family that naturally looks very pale. When I was a teenager/early twenties I was thin and pale. My own mother used to encourage me to wear make up with the words "You look like death warmed up." Luckily instead of totally destroying my confidence, it made me that much more determined not to wear make up. Because if people didn't like me for how I looked, too bad on them. In certain lights I looked even more pale. Interestingly enough I did tan easily and went brown, not red, but I've never particularly liked just sitting around toasting myself, so only got tanned if I was actually working outside. Otherwise I would return from summer break looking even whiter compared with everyone else.
I think Cole looks okay - he's been hanging around dungeons and old buildings a lot of the time - not much sunlight there so bound to stay very pale. In any case, beauty is only skin deep.
I'm extremely pale because I have anemia issues. Luckily, not everyone thinks people will long-term illnesses are hideous, disgusting beings that deserve to be shunned.

I'm thinking Solas might find Cole very interesting, and I hope there's a "friend" there, though Solas doesn't visually strike me as a warm, friendly person (gut instinct based on absolutely nothing).
In Asunder Cole kinda went off the rails when he was pulled into the Fade - I wonder if this might be a recurring issue for him? It would be agony to see him go through his human!Cole nightmare childhood and actually be able to interact this time as the PC. The feels...
I believe to be inflammatory is their intent. And if they stopped getting attention and responses for it they would probably leave the thread.

You see sad and tragic? I see deformed, possibly asphyxiated and definitely badly textured. Just a horrible, horrible screenshot.
Oh, I just knew I shouldn't read the reactions to the reveal of Cole ... Couldn't resist in the end, though. It makes me sad how rude people can get all of a sudden. 
(I especially dislike how people throw the word "emo" around as an insult. It reminds me of teenage bullies. I'd rather stay with "I just don't like woobies" or "demon!", honestly ...)

I think that was more because he was still extremely inexperienced at that point. He hadn't made much progress towards his general fear or social anxiety at the time that they got sucked into the fade.

I would love to see the hat as Cole's personal trinket. At least now with Patrick writing him we won't be expecting his hat to be carried off with the wind and lost forever.

I assume Sera doesn't trust Cole because of the reason most people wouldn't, she probably thinks a demon/spirit creature couldn't genuinely want to help people and that keeping him around is going to result in back-stabbity sooner or later. It's preconceived notions of what he is based on what little information Thedas has about his kind. I imagine her opinion will change with time if he continues to remain loyal and helpful.
Why would Cole be in Merrill's company? The cataclysm at the beginning of the narrative might have drawn his attention (since he might have lost friends as a result), but I'd imagine she would have other things on her mind. She might be interested in the Arlathvenn, or in helping the Champion (if Hawke was her love interest) deal with the crisis of the Breach.
