If he died due to starvation then hopefully he's got a hunger demon in him (hopefully) it could be that the demon is influenced by coles memories and also hunger demons are one of the least intelligent, so it'll make sense that Coles mind remains intact.
The fact that he originally believes that he's gotta kill so that he can go on "living" is kinda fits the bill of a hunger demon. It just kills with a purpose due to Coles memories.
Lol I guess I just want a demon companion, lol

Whatever demon or spirit he is, his "thing" is pain. He can sense it according to Patrick Weekes. That's how he sought out the people he killed in Asunder and that's how he finds people to help post-Asunder. I'm not really sure what pain would fall under, but most of us think he'd be a demon of despair if he was a demon.

Hm why moderators forbid express negative opinion about character that topic is? Isn't that topic to discuss your feelings about this particular character not just squee that will fill 1000 pages?

I'm really...passive and nice and really hate reporting or ignoring people (they could eventually say something that's valuable in some way). But yesterday I did report...sooooo yeah. But now that you've said this I'll be more likely to report if I see things spiraling out of control. I'll still feel a little bit bad about it though.
In the Cullen thread, the most effective way to deal with someone you're not sure about is to respond courteously and politely. If they're asking a question (why do you like this character, what about what's he's done, why do you think he's so attractive) answer it honestly. If they're posting something negative about the character, respond you disagree but think their opinion is completely valid. If they're not a troll, they generally thank you and pop out of the thread, or stick around and debate a bit, or sometimes stick around forever.
If they're a troll, they'll get more pointed and aggressive, or more inflammatory (he's a corpse, look at his hair, he's a demon, I'm going hug him and then murder-knife him in the back), and that's when it's best to ignore them and report.

We're okay with people disliking Cole. What we're not ok with is trolling/inciting, hostile comments/flaming and name-calling (specifically to the posters, not necessarily Cole himself).

He didn't forbid expressing negative opinions! Just expressing them in a douchey way. All feelings, including negative ones, seem to be welcome to be discussed by the folk in this thread.

He didn't. He asked to be civil when expressing a critic.

There's a big difference between "negative" and "hateful." If someone is having a hard time figuring out what the difference is between those two concepts, they're probably better off not posting.

Glad to see the people in this thread are reasonable. I second everyone's decision on allowing constructive critcism as long as it it is civil. I personally like to read the post as to why those who do not like Cole.. uh don't like Cole as long as they aren't attacking any posters or the writers for making him the way he is ![]()

Guys, didn't the mod just say to report and move on when somebody tries to incite arguments/start a flame war?
Edit: Let's talk about Cole's hair! It looks so messy... I don't think he's ever invested in a hairbrush/scissors, but seeing as he probably never had to do that in the fade, I doubt he knows how. Thoughts?

This!
People can dislike a certain character and express their opinions about him/her,while at the same time being considerate and polite towards those who like him/her by expressing this opinion in a polite manner."Doucheness" and rudeness in general, are completely unnecessary.

To be fair, that wasn't really an attempt to start a flame war. We can't treat every negative-sounding post as an attempted attack. Some people honestly want to just discuss things about characters, especially the negative things.

Well to be honest he said to not write comments about cole being ugly... perhaps it is my misinterpretation... but for me he is ugly not that it is bad thing or something but well if someone will call him it will be just an opinion not necessarily trolling.

Well depending what do you mean by hateful if you mean toward user yep pretty much if you mean toward character what is wrong with that you can love , like , don't care , dislike or outright hate character. For example i hate tallis as many other peoples.

We're sort of drifting off topic again (but reasonably so). Buuuuuut we should correct that.
In regards to the hair, ever since the "Last Supper" screen I thought his hair looked sort of like felt. Like it was really matted. It still sort of looks that way to me, especially the top of his head that's covered by the hat like in the desert screens. I didn't expect him to look like he had much hygiene though so I guess I'm ok with it? ![]()

Doubt that for me all characters will end like that not just him.

I'm fine with the messy cut, but he's desperately in need of volume spray or conditioner or some such. The hair in the hat-less pictures, it disturbs me.

Erm, they've got a (barely intelligible) history and apparently blinded by their hate didn't comprehend Allan's post, so I wouldn't exactly give them the benefit of the doubt, but whatever, just don't say I didn't warn you.

The Last Supper picture was just weird in hindsight. Cole looked GIGANTIC, but in these new pictures he looks slender...? Maybe this is due to him not standing next to anyone for comparison, and I suppose that hat would make anyone look tiny...hmmm. Maybe he's still gigantic af and we just can't tell due to lack of context? ![]()

His hair looks like it's never been washed or brushed and he's got a bad case of hat head. I'm not in love with the texture to be honest - I get what they were going for, but it just looks really flat and not rendered well. Fortunately, I rather like how he looks with that big floppy hat on. I'll just have to collect big floppy ridiculous hats in the game...
Is it weird that I kind of want to bring him as my date to the masked ball? Him and Solas. Cole with a giant hat that keeps hitting people, and Solas in his tight jammies and me in some ridiculous bedazzled gown with an obnoxiously big skirt and a foot-tall wig with a birdcage or something strapped to it. We'll be a merry band of the fashionably challenged
And we'll play pranks on all the stuffy nobles.
... Do you suppose Vivienne would disapprove?

The thing is, when people sit there and just go "I hate x" that doesn't have much to work with for a conversation does it? It's the same for "I love x", you can't really sit there and discuss the thing properly when you already pull out such heavy words. Other than the asking of 'why' to the situation and generally I have found it to bring upon a conversation, but the why should have already been there to begin with.
It's not useful to have constant bombardment of negative or making fun of a character. I know what thread was closed down and it was nothing but jokes and then sassing at those who came in to ask why.
There have been posts in here that have been negative towards Cole and they brought upon good conversations, but even then by the same person there have been poor posts that brought nothing but "okay we get it you don't like said character thank you for such useful input to the conversation". There are ways of posting an opposite opinion without feeling the need to sit there and boast about being the devils advocate.
Anyways though, back on topic.

It's because the table is actually curved dramatically inwards. The perspective is completely thrown off by this because we get a straight on view of the table which makes some along the edges massive while those on the inside seem really bizzarly small. (IE: See Cullen in that same image and compare his massiveness to everyone at the table. He's actually one of the closest to the cameras perspective)
There was a picture that was sent out to the youtubers who got a different perspective of the table which shows it is super curved.

I think Cole needs some shampoo.
But since he found out he's a spirit , possible he doesn't bother eating , sleeping , washing anymore.
Not sure how his "body" function , if he only feeds on emotions (like demons and spirits) well he doesn't have a bright future if pain is his thing.
It's also strange he looks sick and dead now , because he wasn't like this in Asunder.
I'd guess people would have noticed.

He might not have changed since the Last Supper screen, not much at least. If you look at it closely, Varric and Solas are both positioned in a way that the curves of Cole's abdomen could be right behind their silhouettes. I think the positioning just made Cole look super beefy in that screen. Plus that mantle/mini cloak might be making him look bigger too. It might just be perspective screwing with us.
