I don't see Cole as a cat person.. I'm not sure why.. it would have to be a very fat lazy cat that just likes sleeping and a belly rub.

As I posted before, I think a little stray mut would be cute.

Well like I said, he will be out to war adventuring with us.
A cat in a big castle could easily sustain itself by catching mice and the like. And once a cat likes you, it does remember you and seek out your company. I can barely keep my own cat off me, he's a cuddle monster. I could see a puppy being good for him, maybe after we're done fighting and he has a lot more time.

Hm now that I think about it, I definitely could see Cole with a feral pet. It...feels more right for him than a puppy/kitten/whatever. Since he was almost feral himself in Asunder I suppose.

A fox might be good too but I'm not sure how well they would work not being domesticated and all. Fennec Foxes are kept as pets though, so something like that could be cute and work. The screaming means they are happy: link to Fennec video

Ofcourse Thedas is also a very different world so they could have pet-like creatures we don't know about also. ^^

I'm hoping he becomes more independent as well, and I hope he makes friends. I think that's what I want the most. Being alone in the Pit for so long... that causes so much deterioration of the mind, I imagine it's like solitary confinement.
That must take a toll on him, spirit/demon or not.

I agree there isn't much point speculating who will be a romance, they could really do anything. I could see any of the companions being one. No matter what happens quite a large amount of people will be disappointed. I just think it's a safe bet to rule out Cole.

In terms of appearance, I agree with you on Cole. He is the most aesthetically pleasing to me in terms of the guys, although I couldn't say why. The rest of them though, I do not find ugly or anything. I just need to know more about a character to care about them, regardless of their looks. It's why I don't ever plan out my LI playthroughs until I have actually played through the game, with my first run "going with the flow" so to speak.    
I don't find Alistair very attractive, but he's my favorite romance in DA:O. My only original point was that just because that person finds Cole the most attractive doesn't mean he's guaranteed to be anything. ^^

Cole's skin is kinda sickly and his eyes very much so, so that hampers his looks, but you can see that if it weren't for that, he'd be very much a pretty boy. Blackwall? Eh, if you like that type, I guess. Solas? Kinda weird face but not ugly by any means. Iron Bull? Looks like too much horn and too little head to me. Dorian? I hate moustaches, but other than that he's extremely attractive. Varric? Not for me, but I can see why someone might wanna tap that. Finally, I never understood all that Cullen hype, and he looks perfectly okay to me--nothing more, nothing less.
Of course, most are more or less hampered by weirdly stuck on hair/beards. One can only hope that'll improve come release.

I have to disagree with this.. I don't think he'd be a pretty boy at all. His facial structure. His bulging eyes. His nose shape/size. Weak jaw. He's very less than average in terms of looks to the majority of people.

Personally, though I love how he looks and I wouldn't want him to be prettier. I feel it fits his character perfectly. I find it rather endearing and adorable, if I'm being completely honest..

But hey. Not disrespecting your opinion. Just giving mine (:

Considering he lived in The Pit, I have a feeling Cole is sick haha. If he can be.. If he has to eat, sleep and he sweats I imagine he can get sick. It even looks like he might have jaundice. That or his eyes are simply like that because he is a fade creature. Both are possibilities.
He does look like a cross between Rupert Grint and Evan Peters though, so his actual face and such isn't unattractive at all. It's just that he looks sickly and needs a haircut.

What I find attractive in guys really makes no sense, and I'm extremely picky when it comes to them, i can mostly agree with you here though haha. I actually am really really put off by muscles, but... I like horns... Purely for his horns I'm more interested in Iron Bull than the other men, even though I don't really find him actually attractive. I'm a very confused and strange person in terms of this stuff though.

And the jaw... well, it isn't perfect, but it varies a lot between images/angles to me, in none of which it crosses the line into ugliness IMHO. Well, "pretty boy" might be too strong, but definitely a cutie with no reason to hide.

Haha I'm grey-ace and not attracted to bodies regardless, so my reaction is "whatevs" unless it's muscles in which case it's just... I don't know they are just strange to me. My bf is really thin and soft+squishy though, so it's not a problem I guess. In videogames while still off putting, it's easier to look past as all that really matters is the actual character.

Well I like monsters so. Horns, sharp pointy teeth, claws, tails, pointed ears... but they still need to be human in form. I just find it cute for some reason.

Cole looks dead enough that people that have only seen pics of him think he's an actual possessed corpse. I think they did a good job making him look ghostly and otherworldly but also human enough to relate to him.

I have scars from cats and dogs alike, and they're all from civilized, well mannered ones too.   Accidents happen, but sometimes I'm surprised how some people can be so afraid of animals but I love them regardless of the injuries.   I must be weird or something.

As somebody who had multiple scratches from a cat that I loved dearly that just hated being picked up, I empathise completely.  

 

But yeah, a little skittish one that only likes Cole would be sweet. That being said, if they're doing gifts like they did in DA2, then a rat would actually be the best gift, because of Cole's past with them. He'd be reluctant to accept it at first, but eventually they'd both bond and be companions (in friendship) or he'd get upset and reject it (in rivalry). Thoughts?
