I admit to doing this sometimes. ;)

Anyways I figure that Cole is not going to be the type to have his opinions valued. He seems to be the underdog of the whole group. Vivienne will probably not like him just for on the chance of him being a demon. Sera apparently from what we know does not like him. Varric and Cassandra I could see him being very cautious around him but indifferent. Dorian I admit is a mystery as there is not really much indication on his stance with Cole. It seems so far that Solas would be the only one to be interested in getting to know him.

What does everyone else think?

Well yeah I don't think Viv or Sera will give Cole a warm welcome that's for sure, now Dorian he is a necromancer so he might find Cole a bit interesting. Solas the same since he is a fade expert. Varric I think will like him...eventually,IB I'm a bit surprised that he won't have a negative reaction toward Cole when he could be what he fears...now Cassandra it seems to me she will be a bit skeptical but not hate on Cole...which is good.  ;)

*facepalm* oh I completely forgot about Iron Bull! Yeah with his VA interview talking about demons, it is certainly going to take some getting used to. Perhaps once Iron Bull sees that Cole isn't so bad he'll start to get over his fear of demons.

*Shuffles in* I sure do like to write these.

All for humors sake I suppose.

Cole, Sera and Cassandra:

Cole: Are you staring at me?

Sera: *silence*

Cole: *mumbling* Maybe being seen isn't so fun.

Sera: Cass. I can't believe the Inquisitor kept it around.

Cole: I'm right here. Aren't I?

Cassandra: What is it now?

Sera: It's staring at me now. I feel like it's plotting my death.

Cassandra: If you can't get along, don't talk to each other.

Sera: Hard not to when it keeps staring at me.

Cole: You were staring!

Cassandra: *sigh* Maker why me?

This was my song for Cole:

Lyrics below:

Spoiler

Any reference to love in the song reminds me of his love of Rhys and Eva as his dearest friends.

...I'm getting weird flashbacks of my teenage years; probably hadn't listened to Evanescence at all in nigh on a decade.
Anyway, I suppose it (and much else performed by Amy Lee) kind of fits (pre-)Asunder!Cole, but I have trouble reconciling the clearly very different breeds of existential angst and emotional dependency expressed in it, so Exaltation's suggestion IMHO fits him much betterto a T even. [On a mildly related tangent, the barely related soundtrack was pretty much the only good thing about the Fantastic Four films past—and future, it seems. Please, Fox, let go of it already; just let it go!!]

Inquisitor: I swear, if you two don't stop squabbling, I'm going to turn this quest around and we'll go right home!

(That was what I immediately thought when I read that. Just imagine Sera and Cole as the squabbling kids in the backseat of the party... hehehehe.)

A Perfect Circle - A Stranger kind of fits for him and has a more sort of...forlorn or mystical sound to the actual music. It's less modern I suppose.

It's strange but at first I thought Solas looked like a prettier version of James Maynard Keenan.

I think Roads Untraveled by Linkin Park suites Cole.

Particularly this: "cause the love that you lost wasn't worth what it cost, and in time you'll be glad it's gone."

Representing how he mercy killed just to feel alive, and how he let it go because it was immoral.

https://www.youtube....h?v=wCnKl5VQ10s

In fact the whole song suits him.

I mused over this and now I'm wonder if her interaction with Cole might be based on Threnodies 5 (aka spirits are the firstborns of the Maker).

I was thinking, we know Dorian is said to have magic pertaining to "spirits and the dead" and it would seem Alexius and the Venatori are basically the same. I wonder if taking Cole on their quests could have some.. unpleasant results. Do you think there's a chance they could try to control him? Maybe like Anders fighting off Corypheus in Legacy, because he's a warden?

Cole reminds me a bit of this Guy, Wilie Nelson:

Not in how he looks, of course, but if you've seen this episode, you might understand where I'm drawing the similarities from.

Hey everyone (:

This is pretty random and I know this subject has been debated to high-heaven before, but I've been re-reading Asunder today and came across something that made me think.

"He quietly watched her undress. He'd seen naked flesh before: the mages when they coupled in the dark corners, for instance. He'd seen people bathe in the big metal tubs they filled with hot water, and wondered why they went to all that trouble when there were perfectly good pools in the Pit below. He used to watch the mages as well, fascinated with their daily routines, and that included when they changed their clothes and prepared for sleep. Eventually it lost its appeal. It made him feel like a child pressing his face up against a window, peering into a warm and cozy room he could never enter."

I'm all ears and correct me if I'm wrong but.. does this mean all of those things were actually appealing to him? It has been argued before that any of those things above were not at all appealing to him, and that he was simply curious. Yet here we have this quote that seems to state the opposite? Hmm.

That... might actually be why I find Solas attractive.  That's... weird.

@Joe25 - Haha, yes. His long hair is the source of his problems!

@Roxy - Yes! Solas was my first because he's Solas. When we get more info I will for sure be making more. >=D (Take that evil brow however you want.)

I think it's more about being fascinated by humans when they are , you know , just themselves.

Like when you want to be a little mouse and watch people in their everyday life , just by curiosity.

It doesn't have to be sexual , to be entertaining and appealing.

Maybe it's because he's a bit scared of human interaction , and yet is very lonely. So watching people when they are "vulnerable" and in intimate moment ...just fill some need without him feeling too alien or impressed.

I always viewed this as the fact that he was a spirit. The same way that spirits and demons want to experience human emotions but never actually understand it. Kind of like when people go out to study and try to figure out animals.

i don't read that it's the sexuality that he's interested in - just people doing everyday people things - bathing, dressing, etc. included. He just wants to share in their experience of living life.  if anything it shows that he doesn't really understand what he's seeing.  I think the paragraph is just supposed to illustrate how he's an outsider looking in.

Well he watch a couple having sex and sees Evangeline undress and shows no emotion to it. So it is safe to say he has little knowledge of a physical relationship, or he has been desensitized to the idea of sex.

Ok I get it.. I look into things too much. I'm no good at anything logical, including interpreting things like this.. making things up is my forte. :wizard: but thanks for your take on it and putting me in my rightful place. I shall sit on the stop trying to speculate because you're bad at it, bench :P

And here. Since I missed the party, have my "Cole's song".

Spoiler

Imo, this song would suit a beautiful close friendship between quizzy and Cole perfectly. *wipes tear from eye* :P

The intro makes me think of sad, lonely Cole wandering in the darkness : (
