I've been planning my entire party around Cole & who will be nice to him, it means that much to me.
And with Cole being blonde & people comparing Solas to Voldemort I can not resist...

HUGS. Make them happen!
Soooo looking through tumblr, I see a bunch of new fan art of Cole that I don't think I've seen here but I'm not sure anymore? Been busier the past few days so I haven't been keeping that good of track (and I'll continue to be busy for at least another few days). If anyone wants to post them, go for it. Just make sure you cite the artists with a link to the source please.

I posted some like 2 or 3 days ago. I've seen a couple news ones since then though. I'm just lazy. ![]()
I really, really hope we get Solas before Cole.
A non-Circle elven fade expert would be the ideal catalyst for my Dalish rogue to get past his indoctrinated prejudices. (Of course, being a rebel child is always an option, but I just can't see it in this respect for a Dalish who doesn't have magey experiences with spirits of his own.)
And hereby I solemnly swear that I shall never (outside non-warrior companion quests) split Solas and Cole in my parties.

You think Solas would argue for Cole's inclusion into the group? I was thinking about a headcanon about having my elven Inquisitor encounter the Grand Oak Tree to explain why he might accept Cole, given the Dalish view that all spirits are dangerous, but I can see how Solas might actually argue in favor of his inclusion (similar to Alistair doing the same for Leliana, if The Warden was hesitant about recruiting her).
I dont know whether I want Cole or Varric in my party and I don't know whether to romance Iron Bull, Dorian or Solas. I've never had this hard of time with these things before in the past games.

I was like that with Fenris & Anders, too, but the second I met Fenris I knew and never looked back. I figure the same epiphany will happen in DAI, but its nice that Iron Bull & Solas (two potential options) are already down as being friendly with Cole.
Thought I would drop some of my banter from the Solas thread in the Cole thread since it has been confirmed Solas and Cole will get along:
*Cole is sent packing because the inquisitor thinks he is too dangerous and he is now on the road without his hat*
Cole: *crying* I can't believe I have to leave. Why do I have to be such a bad person!
*Meanwhile at the keep*
Solas: I'm telling you inquisitor Cole is not as bad as he is made out to be! If you would just give him a chance maybe-
Inquisitor: Maybe what? He'll kill us in our sleep? No thanks! Demons like him deserve no sympathy! My decision is final.
Solas: Well if that's how you feel I'll leave too.
Inquisitor: Fine. Go on then! The Inquisition needs backbone. If you cannot support my decisions then I could care less where you and that demon goes.
*Solas leaves slamming the door disgraced that the Inquisitor is heartless and does not wish to follow him/her*
1 hour later Solas catches up with Cole. Cole looks back.
Solas: *puts hands on Coles shoulder* Looks like it's just you and me now. What do you say we go somewhere where we belong huh?
Cole: Ok...

Cole:...Look into my eyes...

Awwwwwww. The dialogue with Solas and Cole is sweet. I'm glad they get along. Solas sounds really awesome. His beliefs fit really well with the outlook I like to take. I can imagine my Inquisitor will get along great with him.
So, I have been lurking since this thread's inception, and I've finally popped in (after creating a new account, no less!) to say...
I absolutely adore all of you. And I really look forward to seeing Cole in Inquisition
and finally figuring out what happened to Lambert!
I'm finally jumping in on the discussion after months of debating it! (I also have a fanmix to link you guys, but I'll wait until I have a few more posts.)
So, I know it's been covered in the thread already, but what do you think happened to Lambert? (Now that we know that Cole isn't possessing him or anything crazy, we can rule that out.) Was it really something as simple as killing him? Or do you think Lambert was released, and fled Orlais?
Hi ![]()
Funny you should have that pic.. I always swore that I would run through flower fields with Cole and make him wear flowers in his hair with this song in mind.
And personally I think he killed Lambert. (I hope so. Evil man. Boo!) Usually "look into my eyes" is the kind of "lock on" or hunter's mark - that's how I see it. I didn't hate the guy but at a certain point in the book I found myself feeling a little sorry for him.. even a little respect for him. He was just trying to do his job lol. A very difficult one. He just took it took far, imo.
Of course there's always the possibility that more was said after the last scene in the book took place. Cole didn't need to kill anyone anymore, clearly. Who knows what Lambert might have said to him. Cole did however, seem pretty pissed off at this point - to the point of not backing down.
Anyway I'll sh now. I'm terrible at this ![]()

Thanks! It kind of got washed over with the flood of posts in the Solas thread so I thought I would give those who have not read it a chance and see how they liked it.
I'm loving the friendship that Cole and Solas are said to have. It makes for a great story to be had between them.
If Solas is an LI, I can really see it working well for the people that see Cole as like an adopted son. That would make a pretty convincing nontraditonal family unit. Haha.
Yeeeeessssss Solas and Cole buddies confirmed pretty much yesssss now my fan art I did of them with the hat isn't debunked yeeeessss now I can maybe remake that fanart and have it be Coles hat yeeees. Now excuse me while I completely lose all eddicit while I enjoy the Solas information too much below.
Anyways, I'm really glad to finally see the Solas character infomation and he's just a glorious pile of wonderful sounding. So happy I can count him as apart of my team, finally an open minded character that will get along with my favorite character so then less fighting more happy. Solas' outlook on life that 'it's more complicated than that' is going to gell so well with my inquisitor, and I can't wait to hear the banter between Solas and Cole ahhhh.
Ahhhh I'm too thrilled, Solas was my second most interested in character and the fact he gets along with my favorite character in Dragon Age makes it all the more thrilling.
I'm so happy that Cole and Solas are going to get along. Poor Cole needs a friend and some answers.
Not sure if posted before but...

All I gotta say is that short blurb where Cole says that he misses Rhys and Evangeline better not be implying that they are dead or I will... I will.... ;_;
This begs the question...can Cole sense a spirit possessing another body? whenever he saw wynne did he also see the faith spirit, did he even distinguish the two from the same being? how about now that the spirit is in evangeline, does he still see her as evangeline, or does he see the spirit of faith? or even an amalgamation of the 3?

Hopefully we'll know in DA:I
Assuming they are alive ;_;

I vaguely remember Cole sensing something different about Wynne, but I don't think he knew exactly what. But my memory is a little fuzzy about this, I might be wrong.

""This is the Fade," the old woman said. He'd never gotten a close look at her before. She might have seemed like a kindly grandmother had it not been for those sharp eyes. They looked right through him and sized him up, and there was something else . . . something behind them that made Cole shiver. He didn't like it. He almost wished he were invisible again. "The realm of spirits," she continued. "And this is a dream, of sorts. I believe it might be mine."

Beat me to it, I hadn't reread that far yet. Buuuuut while looking for that part, I stumbled on this in chapter 9:
Cole moved through the darkness. He could hear the heart beating, like an insistent lure drawing him close. He could feel their despair. In the silence it was like a clarion call. How could he have not heard it sooner?
a few pages later:
Cole reached out and awkwardly patted her on the shoulder. It seemed like a useless, impotent gesture. He had no idea how to comfort someone, nor was he certain why he felt the need to...
She began to move toward the doorway, but before she went more than a couple of steps she stopped and turned towards him. "You saved me." She smiled. It was a shy smile, but full of gratitude. "I will remember you forever."
"No you won't."
I felt like PW was telling us new things about Cole in the interview...but after finding this, I wonder if Cole was always intended to grow that way?
