I think most people were surprised by his height. He's even taller than DHMG. I would have expected him to be the smallest human male, at least. It's possible that the perspective could be a bit skewed in the picture, though. Like, Iron Bull looks pretty small in comparison to what I was expecting.

Cole's armor actually looks a lot nicer than I was expecting. ![]()
I imagined his clothes to be really weathered and drab. So compared to that I thought he looked really fancy when I first saw him in the trailer.

I'm more surprised by the bulky look than the height, though both are a bit of a shock

His height and his broadness seems to be something people are surprised by XD
I have always had this issue with the human male models in both DA and Mass effect games, because they're very broad shoulders and make this sort of triangle with how skinny their hips are. Reminds me of WoW characters with massive shoulder pauldruns. Never seen a not ripped male human in these games, I think if he had his own thinner body type like an elfs that would fit peoples mindset on him. But then again he is next to an elf and dwarf rather then anyone else, and Dorian is sort of tilted more towards the Inquisitor making him appear much more thinner, while Coles body is more faced to the viewer. Coles also upright and doesn't seem to do any sort of body language in the scene at all, just stands there like a statue compared to the few who shift their weight and move about.
I still say he found snacks when he got out of the White Spire. I have this weird little story in my head with how the Inquisitor meets him by catching him stealing food from their supplies while he's been following them. That or everyone started feeding him like a stray.

Yeah, becuse the book described him as a thin and scrawny young man, but maybe the designers decided to change his looks like it had been done to Fenris.

I wasn't sure on Cole, but after reading the book he's grown on me quite a bit. I do hope they debulk him a bit, he doesn't look scrawny enough.

I noticed in the book Cole just refers to people by their most obvious attributes and has a hard time remembering to use names.
Adrian - Red Hair
Wynne - Old Woman
Arnaud - Big Nose
I wonder if he'll have similar titles for companions.

Yeah, Cole only seemed to bother remembering the names of people he really liked.

about the body size of the DA men, it bothered me in DA2 because the male mages were so buff and it just didn't feel right... I couldn't play a non-thick male, rogue or otherwise. is it wrong to want to be a slim man who doesn't have a wide muscle mass
(maybe I'm in the minority with this want)

Even then, it seemed like he had to keep mentally reminding himself. With Evangeline he was still saying "Knight-Captain" well into the book and then reminding himself of her name. With Adrian, I think he never remembered her as anything but "Red Hair", so I think it definitely was something he only bothered with once he started getting attached to someone. That would explain why Rhys was the only one he always thought of by name throughout the whole story.

I wonder if we'll find him in the fade, if he's still going to be invisible most of the time. If the whole party saw him in the fade, he'd definitely be visible to them, at least for a while.
He appears to Lambert at the end of the book, though, and Lambert definitely doesn't want to die, so I think he possibly is in control of it now. In which case, where wouldn't necessarily matter. I'd guess either early on near the peace summit, or when we go to the White Spire.

I wonder....since the Inquisitor appears to be holding a piece of the Fade in his palm, would Cole's flickering possibly be stabilized?

Well its a good thing they're buff in DA2.... I wonder if they could've met a middle ground... like a spot between slim and buff.... oh well, I'm not expecting that any time soon, it would be nice though, I just personally don't like playing buff dudes - but hey elves are back so I can be a slim male now, and I doubt they're making the human males - qunari, or drawf men not buff so, we both get what we want ![]()
@Faerah that second Cole is pretty close to how I imagined him

*cole disapears*
Inquisitor: ugh not again *hits him with a small blast of the fade* Stop doing that, Mr. Disapear, or else no one else can see you.
This was stupid. And probably a bad idea story-wise.

That's a good point. I hadn't considered that.
It might be a more localized effect, allowing Cole to be stabilized within a certain proximity to the Inquisitor, which would fix the problem during combat or when he is in your party.
Or perhaps, with his growing understanding of his own self, Cole simply figured out how to do it himself.

Lol, it's all good. I just meant that in the Inquisitor's presence, Cole would be remembered and wouldn't "flicker"

I'm thinking it's this, or at least I'm hoping it's this. It'd probably play out better story wise and build a better character.
