Am I the only one that would feel actually safer with Cole in a dark room or in a dark alley than an angry Vivienne under the same circumstances?

The Cole from Asunder, no. For personal reasons.

The reformed Cole in DA:I, I'd feel safe around. I am not sure there is a companion I'd not feel safe in a dark alley with though. None of them are scary...

I'd feel ok with either Asunder!Cole or Inquisition!Cole. This is mostly because of me though, not him. I have a really steadfast will to survive, and as long as I can predict something/someone, I'm relatively comfortable. And Cole is predictable. Aaaaand I'm a pessimist so I'd always suspect the worst with him and be pleasantly surprised when he's actually not that bad.

I'm going to be hugging Cole alot in the game he needs them...you think Cole would let us hug him since he hugged Rhys? I think he will be one of the companions that will let you hug him.

I strongly believe Cole is one of the huggable companions based on how he was in Asunder.  I doubt it'll be a perma-hug option in dialogue (like a LI kiss option) though, so probably quest specific like the hug in Tali's ME2 quest & a one-time thing.  

 

I wonder where Cole will hang out in the Keep?  It'd be beyond adorable if he hides out in the Quizzie's suite.

I thought the same thing!  

I am not even maternal in real-life, I literally push my nieces out of my house whenever they try to hang out with me, like...what is it with Cole?!  This is the strangest thing ever, to be this antsy about a character that I have no intention to boink.     I'm more creeped out at myself over this than any of the tawdry things that pop in my head about IB/Dorian.

This one made me think. In the follower screenshots, we saw Cole with brown eyes. But Mike Laidlaw said on Twitter that there was a bug with the eye colours and the lighting. I wonder if Cole's really are brown.. I hope they are. I wouldn't mind them being green though - like mine (:

I'd guess it depends on whether he/she loses the hand thingy.

Aw, I'm sad. I was totally gonna have ghost sex with Cole, then forget I did it in a tragic twist. 

 

I know, I'm saying it all Buffy-speak-like, but... seriously. He's a ridiculously cool character. Creepy yet adorable would have been so fascinating to slowly develop into a probably ill-fated but fascinating romance. And sex is the little death. If death makes him remembered... well, why not try a less-fatal form of memorableness?

 

A mite heartbroken now. He was the one I had the most interest in. A romance with him would've been subtle and poignant; it would've had to be.

 

P.S. SO imagining him as being played by Evan Peters now. It's too freaking perfect--thank you, thread!

No.. please no

Can you just imagine.. you build such a beautiful friendship with him, at one point telling him "I won't forget you Cole. Trust me." Then we close the tear, and just forget him. He slowly disappears looking sad and empty but not surprised. "I knew you would forget me. But I won't forget you." Then he completely disappears. Later on, the inquisitor finds a ridiculous hat on his/her bed, and it brings back a familiar feeling of adoration. But he/she has no idea why.. just holds it to his/her chest for a second and smiles, then shrugs and gets into bed to sleep.

I think it would be nice to have a hug option for Cole, but I kind of wonder if that sort of option is only for LIs.
