It might be a more localized effect, allowing Cole to be stabilized within a certain proximity to the Inquisitor, which would fix the problem during combat or when he is in your party.

 

 

Or perhaps, with his growing understanding of his own self, Cole simply figured out how to do it himself.

I was thinking before that he might learn to control it, because it seems like it would have a game play mechanic aspect. It seemed that Cole would be noticed at times if he brought enough attention to himself. Like, Pharamond didn't see him in the fade and would forget him almost immediately, but Cole could get his attention for a while if he tried. I imagine as a game mechanic he'd have a chance to sneak attack if he wasn't seen, or something like that.

Semi confirmed rumour! Every single companion will have a unique nickname for every other single character, which is kept track of only by an interconnected web on a diagram somewhere in the Bioware Offices detailing how these 13 people call each other.

I imagine as a game mechanic he'd have a chance to sneak attack if he wasn't seen, or something like that.

In regards to his powers, (assuming he still has the abilities he displayed in Asunder) I could see him being quite useful in combat:
* Invisibility (sustained) - Cole uses his powers to become invisible on the battlefield, granting him a 50% chance of remaining stealthed after his first attack.
* Forgettable (activated) - Cole uses his powers to make enemies forget about his presence, granting him a 25% threat reduction.
^Just to point out that likely none of these are a balanced, they are just examples.

I would definitely like them to see them come into play. Hopefully it won't be a case of gameplay-story segregation.

I just saw a new in-game render for one of my characters that made me involuntarily squee. I am embarrassed, yet still pleased. #DAI

That moment when you see a recent build for one of your character's models, and they are about 10x hotter than you remember asking for.

 

If these are about Cole, I'm guessing his in game model is fairly new and still being worked on maybe? Also, I wonder if Cole and Cullen are both not moving much because maybe each character has unique idle animations and those two don't have any yet?

about the body size of the DA men, it bothered me in DA2 because the male mages were so buff and it just didn't feel right... I couldn't play a non-thick male, rogue or otherwise. is it wrong to want to be a slim man who doesn't have a wide muscle mass  (maybe I'm in the minority with this want)

Oh man, I'm in the same boat with that. It's why I was so thrilled when they announced the return of the different race choices. DAII and Mass Effect where the only games where you can character create where I never played a guy because of the overly muscular thing going on with them. It looked so weird to have a male mage practically bursting the seams of his robes all the time, while meanwhile in DAO I played with the male elfs all the time because they where just less ridiculous looking in body shape. It was like playing an athletic runner/swimmer type of character but they had the build of a body builder DAII. Made no sense D:

 

I noticed in the book Cole just refers to people by their most obvious attributes and has a hard time remembering to use names.

I wonder if he'll have similar titles for companions. 

Maybe at first he'll have nick names for the group, then it slowly turns into their names depending on if he gets along with them and people will notice that and we will have fun banter time with it Makes me hope that the banter is loads in this game.

Guysguysguys but wait...what if Varric liked Cole's nicknames better and started using some of them...Also, I got the impression that Cole couldn't read in Asunder, what if Varric teaches him?

Oh my goodness that would be the best on all fronts. They pass by signs and Varric asks if Cole can read them, then down the line when you pass another one Coles able to read it and Varric being oh so proud guh. Varric is like, the best dad ever now I really want to see some banter with them.

 

Also I can't wait to see a better picture of Cole, though if Gaider says he's ending up super pretty boy I can see people fluffing up mad for him not being an LI because he's the most conventional pretty boy by the looks of it (second to Cullen of course. Then I'm not denieing Dorians handsomeness but I know people who are turned off by that amazing stash of his)

I'm having a hard time imagining getting invested in a character that essentially doesn't exist. Equipping items on a spectre that is not flesh and blood. A spirit, the very things the Inquisition is fighting, desecrating the memories and appearance of a dead person.

That being said, I know nothing of Cole's arc in DA:I. Perhaps his newfound self-awareness will help him connect to his identity as a spirit. Treating him as a man seems wrong.

We've had quite a few freaks in our party before, but their gimmicks have been relatively straightforward. Cole's insubstantial nature makes me leery of him.

I can actually see Varric at least becoming his sort of 'big' bro. Kind of like how he took Merrill under his wing a bit.

I have a feeling I'll want to bring Cole, Sera, and Varric around a lot...I suppose it's a good thing I prefer having my character as a mage. I'm sure having 3 rogues might make the game a bit harder than having a balanced party though.

Oh my god! Now I can't stop thinking how the final version of Cole will look like! I literally can't wait to see it. I mean, if Daddy Gaider liked it (and Cole is one of his favourites), then we all will be stunned.

I believe that the model of him we saw in the trailer (and of some other characters as well) is not exactly finished and there will be some minor changes added to them. Remember how they drastically changed Cassandra's and Fenris's appearance before the game was released?

Oh noes, Cole is just for me Joking. But, I think that I'll bring with me DHMG and Grey Warden besides Cole. I hope that they will get along, though I really love Varric... But heh... It's just so many of the places in the party...
