So do you all think there will be differences for Cole's character if, say, Wynne was killed in Origins? 

 

I imagine the events of Asunder happened in a very different way if that was the case.

Wynne was fairly integral to Asunder... I thought she was retconned as not really being dead? Most of the book wouldn't have happened. Without Wynne, Rhys would have never been allowed out of the tower and to go to Adamant Keep and... well a lot of stuff happened. I doubt they'd write a completely different Cole that never went to Adamant Keep.

No idea how they'll manage that to be honest, but I have a feeling that everything in Asunder happened and is canon and anyone's play through that killed Wynne has been retconned. Unless there was a statement saying otherwise?

Although I don't really see why they couldn't consider it in the same way as Leliana and Ohgren. You thought they were dead but they weren't really and they went on and did other stuff without you. So maybe retcon isn't the right word.

Hmm, I'm not sure if I could predict/theorize on how it would affect Cole accurately. But I have a feeling it would at least mean Evangeline is dead though. The rest still might have happened similarly if the Divine chose someone else in Wynne's spot (assuming that it was still suggested that Rhys go along because of his research into Fade entities).

Maybe the spirit of faith inside Wynne would do something like Justice after her possible death in Origins.

Would the spirit act like Wynne though? that I can't really say, I guess it depends on how intertwined they were.

Just picked up DA Asunder and about to read! Excited to learn about Cole!

I have to say Cole is an interesting character I think its highly likey he is a demon transitioning into a spirit the opposite of what happend to justice in DA2

 

Honestly when my qunari mage inquisitor comes across cole he will have a similar outlook to Solas and if he finds out about his past considering what we know of him and he is still helping considering people will forget him I consider that work towards redemption for past mis deeds.

 

He is similar to Parrthurnax is some way and this line fits his character and what he is trying to do.

The timeline on the DA website lists Lord Seeker Lambert declaring the Circle of Magi defunct in 9:40. I can't remember when DA:I is taking place... was it 9:41?
So I'm guessing around 1 year more or less.

Well, now that I heard his voice, yep I can concretely say it does not match what I pictured for him at all. These first few playthroughs with him will be weird. 

 

But regardless, congrats on seeing Cole close up and hearing him, everyone.

The inflection is almost like a rhetorical question though. Like he just had the revelation of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" sort of thing and the comment was as much to himself as who he's talking to. Or at least that's what it seemed like to me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think Cole has one of my favorite voices across the series so far. I adore it. Aside from apparently how nice he is (getting approval for saving the soldiers), and I'm truly intrigued by his character.

 

Definitely a Cole fan now.
