both in a sense. The og cole was a mage then the spirit happened. While in this state of transition he subconsicously used BM due to memory damage but fights like a rogue. By inquisition he's a rogue spirit(pun not intended) fights like one but with magical enchancements lorewise thats unique to him

I really like all the companion poster releases but Cole is so badass adorable.=3  Since re-reading Asunder, I've been really excited to see Cole again.  My inquizzies are so going to have a maternal side to them.

Found you!    First time the Cole thread hasn't been on the first page.    Was looking at that new picture and it suddenly hit me who he reminded me of: Van Helsing.   That is a classic Van Helsing pose.   In the film, Van Helsing worked for the Pope's shadow organisation that rid the world of evil nasties, in our game Cole works for the Inqusition (originally set up by the Divine) which rids Thedas of evil nasties.    That weird hat now looks a way lot cooler to me.

Hmm, I also noticed that in this shot, we can see Inquisitor, Solas, and Cole, while the party members are Solas, Varric and Cassandra. Could this be Cole's recruitment quest perhaps...? And it seems to be inside Therinfal's Redoubt too.

So, Liae Naelyon picked up on this in the crafting thread, but notice how Cole appears in this picture, whilst not being in the active party?
Possibly his recruitment quest?
