The problem is, I'm curious about all characters.

I'm playing the game multiple times I think.

Same here, i will almost ignore : Sera, Iron Bull, Varric in my first playthrough. 

In other playthrough i will have another setup/other favorable.

Cole and Cassy will be friends in all games.

I'm wondering if events revealed in game won't warp the dynamic of the party.

 

If the teams bioware set up won't disintegrate.

Watched Cole's introduction. I'm keeping him in my party forever, this I swear.

If anyone was wondering, the new trailer has Cole in it a couple of times at least. Look for the green and black puffs of smoke. Once you know where he is you can go back and see him stealthed.

I've spent more time than I should hunting Cole down. Thank goodness for his hat, or else I'd never spot him.

I don't think it matters. So long as the character changes from x to y. Characters are more intresting when they change either by evolving like Leliana or devolving like Anders. When you compair Leliana in her DLC to Leliana in DA:O you see the journey she took. When you look at Anders in DA:A compared to anders waiting to be judged you again see the journey he took. One went through a "positive" change the other a "negative" change but two great stories.

OK, calm down a little bit now. I think we can get him before the end of chapter 1, (It’s still in Haven right?) just finish the "Champions of the Just" in the seeker fortress, he will save your life in Therinfal.

Between the mmorpg.com VOD and that video, it seems like if you recruit the templars during Champions of the Just, you get Cole earlier. If you get the mages he comes later in the main story. Not sure how accurate this is but it seems this way. Maybe getting him later is just a fail safe for people that skipped side quests, I'm not sure.

Hey guys just popped in to say that I just caught James Norton in something yet again on the tele. He's the lead in Grantchester and he's absolutely fantastic. Definitely check it out if you are able to. He's incredibly talented.

WDK, I hope someone can steam Champions of the Just, I think that’s the right debut. But the youtuber cut it out for a reason, so it’s probably a main quest again and I've already be spoiled too much on that for Cole.
I’m glad he's crucial to the main plot, and start to understand why they kept him as secretive as possible now. Half reason is his arc, another half is spoiler concern. But I've noticed that you can try to kill him (although I doubt anyone can, he’s pretty calm.) on his recruitment. But the elder one still come and Haven will fall. How we gonna survive that without him? Will he still come to warn you that? Or many people just going to die for your stupidity?
On the other hand, I’m a little bit worried now, Selfishly, I wish he's just a regular companion, but now he can read the mind of red templars, old gods and even the elder one? By the maker, you put yourself in a huge danger Cole!

I've finished Grantchester, I never thought that Sidney and Cole could have so many similarities until the final episode. I can only say that Norton understand Cole, and he will do a great job.

Apparently Cole may be linked the The Maker and/or Andraste, from what people are saying, and based on his (apparent) second companion card that you get at a certain part in the game.
