But are not mortal, still only spirits.
They are mortal since they can die. They are just ageless.

They are not humans, elves, dwarves or whatever, they are like souls. The body is not alive.

Yea, it is a spirit that took the form of a human young man. As for not being alive it depends on your definition of the word. I see him as alive just like I see AIs in science fiction as alive.

So it seems in the main choice...
Both Cole and Solas were a delight in this game. Truly philosophical companions and yet with plenty of pathos. The other Bioware character that they remind me of is Mordin.

What is the difference?

I think he's possessed.. somehow, soul, body, whatever, only logical explanation, if not divine or so.
Uhh well I don't know what to tell you if you refuse to believe what the game states.
Cole is not possessing anything. We might not know the details because the only stuff we know on the Fade is what the people in the game world know, but that doesn't mean it isn't true just because we can't understand it.
So it seems in the main choice...

No, Solas says it, but he has no explanation. It is not understandable. I hope BW explains it.

Well considering what Solas is I'm inclined to believe him.
Tweet the devs and hope they answer because otherwise I'm pretty sure Solas' is the explanation we're getting.

Lol, so I just took Cole to Crestwood where he got scolded by a spirit of Command!
Spirit: Ugh, Compassion. DID I ASK FOR YOUR NAME?!
Cole: ...Sorry.
I found that scene humorous.

Talk to Cole enough when his dialogue is exhausted and he starts making references to things like Soylent Green and Jade Empire. ![]()

Can anyone tell me where the turnip ambient dialogue is? I can't remember.
Maybe we should compile a list of where to get them and put it in the OP or something, people seem to ask that question a lot xD

No one has really replied with a list about it yet, otherwise I would put it in the OP. And I don't know myself. The turnip one was somewhere where you go often though I think. It was a guy complaining about the smell if I remember right but I don't remember exactly where it was. Maybe right in the throne room or something? I got impatient and finished the story on my first playthough and decided to restart rather than finish completionisting the first. I'll try to record where and what they say exactly for whichever ones I can refind. I never did find the second thing on my first playthough, I hope it's not bugged on PC or something. ![]()
Edit: The one I'm missing I think should be the loaves of bread on the battlements but I'm not entirely sure. I ran all over the place and couldn't figure out where it triggered.

I *think* the first turnip dialogue is in the throne room, and then the second one that lets you confront Cole about it is around where Cassandra stands. I *think*.
Cheese and mint in the kitchen, second one for it is in the tavern at the front of the bar.
Daggers up near a group of people outside of Cullen's office, second one down by the gate near the barn.
Plums in the tavern, second one down where the infirmary tents are. I think.
Can't for the life of me find the bread on the battlements one.
Not sure if the others are 100% correct but they should be somewhere around those areas.

I'm about to get Cole again in this new playthough. I'll double check these while I'm at it.
