Mmm, Evan PetersI'm also fine with a platonic relationship with Cole, just not with Evan Peters.
I'd hold hands with him all night long, if you catch my meaning

Iron Bull is so gross. XD
It's so hard to pace myself with the fan art when people keep posting new stuff...

I have like 3 other new art works waiting in queue but...must...restrain...self...from posting all at once... ![]()
Dump it. Dump it all!!!I have like 3 other new art works waiting in queue but...must...restrain...self...from posting all at once...
Page 28 of the Cole thread shall now be dubbed art dump page!

Haha, always the Dante references.
Ok, here's another fan art but it has a bit of backstory/headcanon so bear with me:
Anonymous:
The Inquisitor's fade mark is like cat-nip to spirits. Cole is no exception, M!Trevelyan just deals with it and important meeting/battles with demons become really weird.
lifeofaseamonster:
(OH GOD THIS IS BEAUTIFUL IMMA TRY TO DO THIS JUSTICE.)
"You see, Inquisitor, the Keep cannot actually purchase merchant wares from the village because it’s under Gaspard’s jurisdiction and he…”
Trevelyan sat at the table, across from the local magistrate.
Cole, seated next to him, was fidgeting.
It wasn’t that big of an issue until he started rubbing his face against the Inquisitor’s hand.
"W-what is that boy doing?” The magistrate made an excuse of reports to be filled out and quickly left thereafter.
Trevelyan glared at Cole, who at least had the tact to look apologetic.
——
"Take that, foul demon!" He swung his sword, but the demon held out his hands in a "stop" motion. Cole, meanwhile, was staring at the glow in Trevelyan’s palm.
"What?" He let his sword posture relax, though his gaze was critical.
"I- Your hand, mortal, it is…"
The Inquisitor let out an animalistic sound of pure frustration. “OH COME ON, NOT YOU TOO.”
An illustration was mandatory

Have we run out of stuff to talk about with Cole? I know we don't have much on him at all but I'm worried we might get closed? Or wait, did we go over the fanart thing already and how that's okay as long as it's on topic of Cole?
Ahhhh worriedddd D8
:3 alwright! so with cole's special rogue abilities and himself in general, do you guys think it'll be him teleporting in and out of battles just to backstab the baddies? ![]()
that would actually be pretty swee-eet...

^picture there, don't wanna to distract from the awesome pics of cole on this page x3
I read snippets of Asunder so I have no idea if he disappears before attacking people. and also just his look alone in Inquisition XD it reeks awesomeness.
Before Cole was actually spotted in the trailer I always figured he would have the look of a sort of warping rouge, going in and out of visual when he attacked someone. In the book, he less vanishes and is more never seen unless it's by the people he goes out of his way to kill/want to be killed or he uses his powers way later in the book to make sure they don't see him or realize what he's doing/stabbing them.
We have had rogues that 'vanish' in fights and appear when they go and stabby. I had Zeveran in DAO be practically invisible whole battles zipping around and back stabbing the ones that where focused on the tanks in the battle, making him pretty much as close to a Cole style I would figure would be done. I bet in a mass hectic fight Cole would be spotted and can't have his hiding reach span out super far enough and would have to one on one target it. Though I'd imagen they would have it much more visually interesting compared to the just going see through with a puff of smoke.
Maybe not as bright and flashy, possibly more dark and shadowy with his movements more slinky sneaky around (since he would still be visible to the player after all)
During the gameinformer dump last year there was a mob showcased that I figured Cole might be similar to combat wise, here's a link to the vid. It was very early development, but the idea is there and already in game, so it's not too far fetched.

Oh, also I don't think we're at risk of getting closed atm. It seems the only threads that get locked are the ones that go horribly and regularly off topic or ones that get into heated and offensive debates. As for the fan art...no dev replied to my inquiry if stuff was ok or not, so I have no idea but so far so good I guess? I'm pretty sure the image rules are mostly for memes or offtopic stuff though (minus the meme thread cause they let that one slide, lol).
Phew okay, I always get worried about that sort of stuff because I have been to a few forums that consider just a bunch of fanart posts in a thread as spam and off topic even if the art is relevant to the thing. Then again they might have been huffing at the whole meme gif posts more.
Also to that video... howww did I never see that game informer stuff before. That warping green guy in the video is exactly how I pictured Cole would be XD

Oh yeah, they could care less about fanart. They love that kind of stuff.

The only rules that I've seen that mods want us to adhere to for fan art is:
1) Keep it SFW
2) Don't just put up a pic with no caption. Otherwise, that is considered picture spam. Starting your post with something like, "This is a gorgeous piece of fan art" is perfectly fine and within the rules.
As Elu said, the DA team loves fan art and enjoys watching our enthusiasm when we all get along.
And so far we seem to be getting along quite well! I finally got my copy of WoT. It's gorgeous x_x
I am looking forward to seeing how he works in game and the different abilities he'll possess. But what I am really interested in is what he's become since the epilogue of Asunder, and what the "separation" between Rhys and Evangeline has done to him. Cole is no stranger to loneliness, but if Rhys and Evangeline are lost suddenly and tragically like I suspect that may be a lot for him to handle at once.
What does WoT stand for?
It's World of Thedas, the book about DA lore.

I think it's very likely that Rhys and Evangeline could die in the initial blast, which will make a huge impact on Cole. I think it will likely be up to the Inquisitor to give Cole a new source of stability and help him channel his emotion, and his substantial skills, in a (hopefully) healthy way. I remember when Cole said in Asunder that he would kill every last templar if Rhys died and I suspect him to have similar vengeful intentions over this, but Cole is an impressionable individual and he has a strong want to do the right thing. If the survey profile we saw before is to be believed, though, there are strong implications that you can also influence Cole into becoming something far more sinister, and I believe his anger over what happened to Cole the mage boy and now likely Rhys will be the cornerstone in that possible turning point.
I think the two ways of Cole's evolution will be as follows:
1) We can persuade him into being something closer to a human - the person he used to be (or he believed he used to be), the initial Cole. That could be considered as a "good" ending to his story.
2) Or we can make him to be more of a Fade creature like he was in the end of Asunder - a ruthless and alien predator who is preying on humans and takes their lives to achieve his goals. Revenge could very possibly lead to such an outcome.
As for me, I am not quite sure which ending is more preferable. I don't want Cole to fool himself and believe he can be a normal human. I'd rather he accepted his nature, but don't turn to a cold-blooded demonic creature. Maybe there will be a way to make him something like Justice was in DAA - a spirit (or another Fade creature) who is fully aware of his state and personality, but nevertheless still more good than evil.
