I'd rather he accepted his nature, but don't turn to a cold-blooded demonic creature. Maybe there will be a way to make him something like Justice was in DAA - a spirit (or another Fade creature) who is fully aware of his state and personality, but nevertheless still more good than evil.

I hope for something like this, also. I hope we can help him to realize what he is and that he can still do good as what he is, not just as pretending to be human. I think spirits can be good or bad, just like humans, and I hope we can convince Cole of this, also.

That would make for such good replay value if they figured out a way to have the companions deeper in their story and how you can have their paths be drastically different while having a moral grey about it. Since the idea of Cole turning 'more evil spirit' like is very negative I hope they turn it into a more understandable path you would take with him, mainly because it would allow for a ruthless Inquisitor that will do anything to win vs one that has standards. I do very much have high hopes for that and how we can effect Cole/the other companions. 

 

I know they said they're making the companion interaction deeper, but I just can't help but to wonder how. Like DAII or maybe something brand new thanks to the new engines capabilities. Since we have a stronghold main base of Soliders Peak, I wonder if everyone will get there own room as well and have certain small events with each other there, oh that would be wonderful I think I would be stuck in that keep forever pestering the companions the same way I did in DAO with the camp....

I saw your fanart in the Solas thread earlier today! Haha. They got to it first. It's really adorable, though. Like I said over there, I hope Cole and Solas can be friends, since Solas is the fade expert. It seems like he's one of the few that's likely to be on the more accepting side towards Cole.

It's kinda fun to take a peek into the other character threads after I post up a fan art of the character during the later hours, they get to it so quickly in them XD

 

I figure Solas will either be accepting of Cole and best buddie team forms up (like how Cole is standing so closely to both Solas and Varric) and those three will get along swimmingly. Or Solas will see Cole as something to study the scientist route as a thing to study. I don't know how much about Solas but I do hope he's going to be a team player and not be a stick up his bum and be sassy to Cole for being an oddity like how many where in the books, but more like Rhys or just not be needlessly cruel.

 

As I have said before I don't want a DAII repeat where everyone is mean to each other. DX

I agree, I hope more companions will form friendships. I understand some people will clash and that's entertaining, too, but especially in DA2 it seemed like almost no one got along.

I honestly don't mind some of the more rivalry like relationships, a la Aveline and Isabela, as I loved their Act 3 friendship. That being said, I'd like to see Varric and maybe another companion take Cole under their wings, like an older brother or sister relationship.

it makes me wonder, do you think Cullen won't like Cole, given his background?

I hope Dorian gets along with Cole, because I want Dorian to be my LI and I don't want him to be a jerk to Cole when I take them together in the same party. lol

I think Cullen and Cassandra are the least likely to accept Cole, given their faith.

I think once Cass sees that he isn't necessarily a threat to you, she'll lighten up. Cullen however....I could see some problems.

I don't know, Cassandra doesn't seem all that accepting, to me. If anything, she seems more likely to push the issue. Cullen seems like kind of a push over, honestly.

We'll have to see. Regardless, I want ALL of my companions to be friends, even if I have to beat them black and blue to make it happen.

I totally feel the same about Cole. Anyone that continues being mean to him will not have a good day.

Argh if anyone sasses at Cole I'm going to have them on the bench so hard they'll be under it.

 

I was earlier randomly thinking a bit ago while drawing, did Asunder ever describe what color eyes Cole had? I was trying to figure out why I picked blue eyes for him when I draw him up because that just seems like it was an auto click to what would match his hair and I thought at one point the book mentioned blue. But did it?

 

Now I'm starting to wonder if his eyes are going to end up like... green. To match the whole fade colors.

They describe Cole's eyes as things like haunting and intense, but I don't think they actually ever say a color. Not that I remember, at least.

 

Even when David Gaider used Evan Peters in his collage, he was in black and white. lol

Ahhh haunting and intense is descriptors that can mean different colors to people, I think that's why I always thought blue because I always link bright blue eyes to being 'intense' while brown/deeper colors being soft. Different peoples associations to different colors are so interesting... The Evan Peters comparison I wonder if meant entirely even the color, the black and whites made the whole collage thing very moody.

 

...Now I kinda wish though I had been coloring Coles eyes green the whole time rather then blue. Need more green eyed characters.
