It's probably just something to get us talking. Some of the descriptions sound like they could represent the corresponding companions, from what we know of them, and some are just really vague and could be anyone. I'm not sure they'd really have a defined "traitor". It seems like there's always some people that some view as traitors and others don't, like Morrigan, Isabela, Anders. I imagine they'll have a variety of ways different companions can turn on us, like usual, and a lot of them will probably do things that ****** people off. I don't necessarily expect much else. I'm not going to approach the game expecting Solas, Cole or Varric to betray me.

If it was relevant at all, I would assume something similar with Solas. Especially since if Cole likes you, he'd probably be the most loyal guard dog you could ever ask for.
Also, we already know we can make the characters unhappy with us and leave or worse. Poor Cole keeps getting the brunt of the betrayal but he might not even be the worst for these.
Speaking of Cole being a dog, I don't think I'd ever be able to send him away if he brought out the puppy dog eyes. Just thinking about it makes me feel upset ![]()
And while I don't see him being a traitor, I wouldn't be surprised if there's some drama involving him and other companions similar to the situation with Rhys & company in Asunder. I hope there's an option to keep his past a secret to protect him but that may not be possible with the reputation he has as "Ghost of the Spire".

Honestly I can't wait for E3 for hopefully the next info dump so people will stop dwelling on this crap speculation. I want people to speculate, I just wish it was with known canon and lore. ![]()

I just really want more information on who the companions are and their backgrounds, more than anything. Several of them still don't even have confirmed names.

Yeah, we're lucky Cole has a whole book. Characters like DHMG/Dorian, Iron Bull, and Sera have barely anything. And I'm always hesitant calling Sera "Sera" because I thought I remember bioware saying they like staying away from names that might have additional meaning/baggage with players. And Sera is awfully close to Sara/Sarah. Plus the two elves being Solas and Sera? That's a lot of s's.
Edit: and Grey Warden guy has even less.

The whole table thing pointing at Cole as the traitor never made much sense to me, after all, Cole was entirely loyal to the point of lack of self preservation in Asunder. Nothing in his actions in the book would make him a traitorous type of character, Varric I can see turning against you if your Inquisitor is a complete horrible person as shown he was really troubled in that 30 min demo, and Solas who knows what sort of character he is other then a bum from how he dresses.
All I want is Follower Friday like updates for all the companions, maybe a big flood from E3. You know those PDFs where they had really detailed close up shots of the characters looks and their outfits? Yeah, trying to draw the characters who don't have much images of is really hard to do DX (I just did a picture of Dramatic Hands Guy/Dorian the other night, and goodness was that was hard to find concept art. I am going to loath when I get to the Warden and Sera, just because those two have only old conflicting concept art and a dark room as their only visible thing. Cole has even less then them with only the one shot of him <_>)
Oh, huh, we don't even have a name for the Warden at all. Cripes he's probably the most question marked character at the moment. Unless he's that one warden Alister talked about before, something with a G name that I can't remember at the moment.

I definitely hope they start showing new people in screenshots soon. It's always Varric, Cassandra, Vivienne and Solas. Iron Bull has been getting a lot lately, too. DHMG, Cole, Sera and Warden really need more coverage in screenshots, but Cole did have Asunder. DHMG, Sera and warden are the ones getting the least love so far. ![]()

They most likely still haven't finished their faces.
Too bad about the order they went in but, c'est la vie.

I remember Gaider posting about a finished model for a character back in April/March, must have been about Cole so him being one of the last to be finished does tie into that. We've seen very small glances of Sera and the Warden through old gameplay shots.
Wonder when they'll do that whole 'oh we're doing something better then follower friday' because so far it's rather sad to not have a date to look forward to for more information :c

If we're talking about potential traitors in our midst, I'm leaning towards thinking DHMG more than Cole, since he's the obvious choice.
Something about DHMG makes me think he's a tad untrustworthy and might stab me at the back at some point, but I can't exactly figure out why?

I think Dorian/DHMG from what we know of him of his small little blurb, I don't think he'd be a traitor. He's considered more then likely a traitor of Tevinter but it was because he saw corruption there and wanted away from it and to fix it. Joining the Inquisitor is probably a way he figured a way things can change politically with that group. If the inquisitor is a jerk face like the mages of Tevinter then I can see him turning on him.
Though, I bet anyone of the companions can turn traitor depending on your actions. Cole is the only one I can't figure out an angle to make him back stab the Inquisitor...

It's probably just the moustache and beard, it's like having a goatee as the go-to sign for bad guy (or mirror universe counterpart who is a bad guy). Plus he's supposedly from Tevinter, who haven't been the most... pleasant... fellows we've met thus-far in the series...
But as traitors go, he's probably a red herring as well, like Cole.

Lol, watch Varric be the traitor.
He's leaning on the table in the picture like Judas in the Last Supper, yeah...
But I can imagine Varric betraying the Inquisitor either due to possibly having a Red-Lyrium infused Bianca, if Hawke showed up and the Inquisitor went against him/her (particularly if they were at full friendship in DA2) or if you keep "pulling a Redcliffe" like with Crestwood and letting innocent people die.

If anyone is a traitor, I kind of think it will be Solas in relation to the elf plot, but we have to know more about him before we could make a very solid theory of it. To be honest, I still sort of feel like there's less likely to be one unavoidable traitor and more likely a lot of scenarios where companions can leave/turn on you, like there have been before.

Perhaps. But...
Masked Empire spoilers
Spoiler
It's just a theory, but no more outlandish than Cole betraying us based on a screenshot. If we want to point to the survey as proof, Iron Bull's survey description also made it sound like he could turn on us. Cole's description looked more like a decision to be made rather than a certainty, and that just sounds like normal companion loyalty wobble based on the PC's actions.
I give precisely no weight to the theories on Solas' connection to that TME character. They seem to begin and end at "they're elven mages".
That being said I think all the Judas speculation might be a bit literal.

No one asked your opinion, JB.
A tevinter traveling to Orlais just as the country faces what could potentially be the greatest crisis since its inception? How do you rid Tevinter of corruption in Orlais?
I imagine his story will have something to do with the Venatori but you have to admit, it is suspicious.
Of course, I don't really think that just because we have people around a table, someone will, inevitably, be a traitor.

I think the over all point of the Last Supper parallel is to highlight the inquisitor's position as a messianic figure. The other positions aren't necessarily significant, beyond the fact that the distribution of classes seems to be symmetrical.
