My Inquee won't let anyone or anything hurt him anymore. And if she would have to sacrifice herself for Cole, then that's what she will do.

Somehow I think that if we close the portals and cut the Fade off Thedas, it would be bad for Cole. If it's true, I'll leave the portals open.

So I have been sitting in the other Cole thread for a tick and we where talking about the idea of Cole controlling Rhys because Cole had apparently been in the Circle for years but never needed to murder face anyone. But I got to thinking...

 

What if Cole was actually only there for a year or a little bit before he met Rhys?

 

Here me out, the idea that Rhys had grown up in the circle and is around 40 years old give or take, and yet has never heard of the stories of the Ghost of the Spire until he actually sees Cole for the first time. Then when Rhys meets Cole, Coles unable to tell him how long he's been there, and Coles sense of time could be really frazzled and mixed up with the memories of actual Coles and his own. Cole the mage could have been lingering memories sealed away in the dungeon unable to rest, even though Rhys said there's no ghosts it kinda seems like there are (having recently replayed Orgins and there are ghosts haunting the dalish ruins and in the golems area). I have no idea why they would back peddle on it, or just Rhys never had a chance to study it in person.

 

Cole was described by Rhys as being 'quick to learn' so maybe in Coles down time he was able to completely learn the Pit in very little time. 

 

Then for that year of knowing Rhys, he's perfectly fine until the Kirkwall event. Something may have been effecting Cole unconsciously as well (Note I still haven't read the Masked Empire, but people have said it has had demons and stuff there right? It's corresponding with Asunders time line isn't it? Maybe something from that book was making Cole all wonky). It could look like it's simply because of his lack of interaction with Rhys that was causing Coles fretting, but then him turning to feeling like he's starting to fall into the darkness?

 

I really need to actually get through Masked Empire (I admit to not having any fun when trying to get through the first few pages) but I was just thinking about the Cole timeline of existence thing.

I didn't even know there was another Cole thread running. I normally only watch this and the twitter thread. Too bad they didn't post here to talk about it (even though we've already basically talked about all that stuff already, lol).
