You know, and I said this a little while ago in the Cass thread, but for all these jokes, it occurs to me that it's strongly implied in Asunder that Cole can't read.

I was really happy to see the Cole confirmation! He is a bit more zombie-like than I was expecting, but his build does look slimmer her than in the table shot, which is nice. The description seems to have changed from the survey. It seems like he's going to be set in his convictions, rather than possibly being swayed on a darker path. Honestly, I couldn't have done that to Cole, anyway.

Whoa, Cole looks so cool! I have to admit, I wasn't too bothered about him... it's my fault, considering I actually haven't got around to reading Asunder yet. I really want to, now! *Looks at bookshelf*

I haven't really been that excited for the rogues coming up this time around. I've never seen the interest in Varric, and Sera looks cool, but nothing that makes me double-take. I suppose all companions seem like that in concept art and very early footage. Seeing Cole has actually made me really eager to meet him, though, and that rarely happens for me when a companion has only just been confirmed. So, yay Cole!

I imagine his comments would be something more along the line of "What's that man doing with that feather duster?" or "Why is she smacking his bottom? Are they fighting?" given is abject ignorance of the subject, rather than any judgmental tsking.

Now I've got that out of the way :L I honestly can't wait for this, I think he'll be such an interesting companion. I kind of hope he's our baby, like Grunt in Mass Effect, in the sense that we get to look after him and he grows to respect us xD

 

I'm wondering about his personality in-game though... seems like he's having a bit of an identity crisis- at least we can hazard a guess at his companion quest xD

 

I am sure that his mannerisms will be rather awkward and shy. He's without Rhys, and is traipsing about the land with a bunch of strangers.

Cole seems really interesting. I want to read up on him in Asunder because I've heard many different reactions from people regarding him. Some people seem to want to hug him, and others react like he's scary and might stab you at any moment. Is he comparable to Anders in that regard, where he can be at times unpredictable as a spirit? I'm liking how weird he seems, he will certainly bring some interesting moments in the game.

As if the spirit and human have merged. So there's no unpredictable schizophrenic flip from one personality to the other. (:

Thanks for explaining! He is very mysterious sounding, I like it. But I also like that he will be different from Anders, a new flavor of the demon/spirit card. The "forgetting" thing, which I don't really know much about having not read the book, also seems interesting and I wonder how  they will incorporate it. I'm going to read the book before I play I've decided. So far my perception of him leans towards me feeling sympathetic for him, he looks so sad and lost... But that may change afterwards!

It is interesting the different reactions he provokes. Personally I came out of asunder with a creepy and very negative view of Cole, so the parental protective vibe he seems to provoke from others is strange to me. Interested to see how he is going to be introduced to inquisitor.
