A psychotic serial killing demon is cute as a button.. yes... oh my, Bioware fans are so odd.
I could say actual attraction certain a promiscuous pirate who committed atrocities is odd.
But hey. We're all different and we all perceive things differently. The qualities I, and others find so endearing are seemingly disturbing to others. Just like tongues wagging over someone like Isabela is disturbing to me ![]()
there is no way someone other than david will be his writer LOL.
the new quotes about him make me consider once again cole's true nature. the discussion has always been like
- spirit/corrupted spirit or
- demon or
- corrupted spirit which is the SAME THING as a demon or
- some other fade entity which we have not yet come across in the lore
and that's only speculation about what the Entity That Is Now "Cole" was before
- who's to say what it is now and whether it has become something new entirely by fusing with the memories of Original Cole or Original Cole's ghost or whatever else
anyway it makes me revisit it because with the quotes about helping the helpless and him leaving ruthless people make me think the Entity before was a spirit of a virtue, not a spirit of a negative aspect/a demon. a spirit that has now been corrupted a la vengeance although it would seem they can be uncorrupted? the new quotes evoke positive thoughts
that kite hat is SO A D OR A B L E i cant handle it
oh no. ono ono ono
if cole is with the inquisition the chances are rhys and/or evangeline may well be dead
observation time: BioWare have always said they're mighty pleased if a character inspires any significant reaction in a person - they make characters that split their audience. love em or hate em. the polarized reactions to cole (parental vs creeped out) are a thunderous example of that
speculation time: cole's companion quest will deal with his nature/what he is becoming, we could influence what he will become, or finding rhys and/or evangeline. the tears in the veil will have an impact on cole's nature, perhaps increasing as time goes on.
solas and cole may have a fuzzy friendship that starts out with solas's interest in this unique creature/amazing opportunity to study a fade creature in a unique situation. OR as a fade expert he will be wary of the dangers of the fade and will not like him at all
on that note,
i have a very real fear that cullen with his background and iron bull with his fear of demons will NOT be happy with this addition to our party
guys i will choose cole over you dont make me do anything rash :'///
omg what a rollercoaster of emotions in one post
Haha I love this
And I love that "kite hat" is now a thing! ![]()

This is my fear, because he was the leader of the Aequitarians. I really like Rhys, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that he didn't go! It would be really great to see him in the game (and Evangeline), particularly now the Cole is a companion. But I am not going to keep my hopes up too high!
That Cole looks...is litterally kills Varric and Sera as possible Rogue party members..he looks badass , he got perma spot in my squad already. Atleast for first playthrough ![]()

I'm getting a very Kieren Walker from BBC's In The Flesh from this pic...

Yeah I would love to see them. Not only because they were really great characters on their own, but also because it would be really sad for Cole to lose the only person that he considered a friend. Maybe....maybe....Rhys got a really bad hangover the day of the talks and decided to stay home....yeah....that's it....

I think that sums it up quite nicely. Bioware has stated several times before that they prefer characters who can make players feel something, even if those feelings aren't positive. Cole could well be the Legion of DA, if done well. That may include the option to throw him out of the airlock sell his remains to Cerberus get rid of him after knowing what he is. I'm not kidding, since that's another common trend in Bioware: to give the player the option to get rid of companions (selling Fenris back to his master must be the cruelest instance so far).
Is he voiced by Rupert Grint?
I can't stop looking at his shoes.. ![]()

Thank the maker we can change our followers armour now! Phew!

He reminds me of Raiden from MGS, so I feel like he sounds like Quinton Flynn
I am reminded of Rei Ayanami, since both seem to be designed to be creepy and somewhat alienating, but provoke a very different reaction from a lot of people. Of course, it remains to be seen how much that impression will hold up in-game. Maybe he'll turn out to be a teddy bear. A homicidal teddy bear.

Homicidal teddy bears are the best. If that happens, Cole is a must have.

RHYS IS NOT DEAD.
HE AND EVANGELINE HAVE JUST GONE TO A FARM UPSTATE. D<
CRIES WITH IMMENSE, EUPHORIC JOY
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS DAY O BLESS THIS DAY PRAISE THE MAKER i love u bioware i cant handle my feelings rn
See, this is why we can't release too much too quickly. Enthusiasm overload is a very serious risk and the health implications cannot be ignored!
This is for your own safety. Carry on. ![]()
I didn't see anything in his blurb to infer Rhys or Evangeline being anywhere, let alone the peace talks - when the novel ended they were separated from Cole (who stayed at the Spire to [spoiler]). I wouldn't panic until we have need to panic.

But depriving us of it is even worse.. we become mere confused shells of our former selves, helplessly scrambling around for imformation that doesn't exist and creating far fetched scenarios in our minds that will only lead to upset (and health problems *cough*)

I'd actually be pretty annoyed if this were the case. More so if Evangeline dies with him, as that would make Wynne's sacrifice a complete and utter waste.
EDIT: On the plus side, I'm imagining Cole's recruitment coming across as something from a horror film.

The general idea is: If Rhys is alive why would Cole follow Quizzy and not Rhys?
We know the chantry leadership was decimated (a fairly inaccurate term since more than 10% of the leadership is dead, lol) and it would make sense for the mages to have sent the equivalent level of leadership as well. Fiona is almost certainly dead, and Rhys was not only leader of one faction, but a deciding vote and pivotal character. He would almost certainly attend the conference. I know you don't want him to be dead, but in all likelyhood you aren't gonna be happy within 30 min of the game starting (post 2-hour character creation of course).
