Oh goodness, Patrick was unexpected but I am SO excited to see how polarizing Cole is when it comes to our other companions.

"Cole wants to help people who are hurting. He may not always get it right, but he never stops caring. He will walk into the most painful moment of someone's life and offer them comfort without hesitation or judgment. And then he will disappear from their mind and walk away, because it's not about getting thanked, or even remembered. It's about helping."
Just have to pop in and say I absolutely love this character concept.
Cole sounds like an amazing character, and if he helps people then he's alright in my book.
(Even if bread mysteriously ends up all over the battlements.)

I was hoping to get along perfectly with Sera, but it looks like we might have a disagreement when it comes to Cole, since I'm definitely planning on having him on board. :c

Patrick Weekes.. hmm... love the guy but.. I think Gaider wrote him perfectly..
Ok I'm going to suck it up and put my faith in these amazing writers. I'm sure he's done an amazing job.

Patrick Weekes?! I am shocked its not David Gaider! That being said, I love PW so I'm still happy as a clam over here.

"Cole remains a work in progress, yes. Anyone who allows him to join the Inquisition (and because there are people whose response to him in Asunder was, "Demon? LOL NOPE," allowing him to join is optional) is going to hear about some weird things happening, with no one quite sure who put all those turnips in the fireplace or why the battlements are covered with loaves of bread."
Dear gawd, I love this boy. I love him, I love him, I love him.

[PW]: Oh, Maker, yes. Vivienne thinks Cole should be safely banished, and Sera refuses to talk to "it" entirely.
WTF SERA!!?!?!?!
My thoughts exactly before that interview i wanted to have Sera in my team as a main rogue but now i'm so confused, Cole seems to be a great character and i'm sure i will recruit him to my team. I hope we will discover more about him... oh my! i'm again hyped like a little girl dammit ^^

A lot of people will always see him as a demon. He would rather be a spirit. He's trying.
I can't even...my heart...
Alright, OP edited. I took out the leaked survey stuff cause it seemed irrelevant now.

Well, colour me completely floored at the writer change. The way Gaider talked about him it sounded like he was one character that was very unlikely to ever get handed off to somebody else. I'm...not worried, exactly, but curious. I've liked PW's previous stuff and as long as he doesn't fall too far into that wierd "lol loaves of bread on the battlements" quirky thing then hopefully it'll be fine. I've had issue with characters with switched writers being sort of forgotten about/left to the wayside in other games but seeing as DG is still taking an overview of the writing team as a whole hopefully that won't happen.
(I don't understand the loaves of bread thing at all, tbh. Hoping that's something that has an explanation as opposed to random wierdness. He's an undersocialised kid, not a malfunctioning robot.)
Also massively bummed about Sera. I was all set to have her as my first LI but I think i'm going to have a rethink because I'm not sure I can take another primary party that tears members apart constantly the way Fenris and Anders did to each other/Merrill. Bickering is one thing, outright hostility is just...eurgh, especially if you're RPing and trying to be friendly towards both ![]()

I'm so shocked that his writer isn't David Gaider! I wonder why the choice was made for Weekes to write him instead. I'm not saying I don't think he'll still be just as amazingly well written, but I would love to hear why they decided to go this direction.

Since he wants to help people, I bet some soldiers who were on the battlements were talking about them being hungry or something, so Cole places bread there for them the next day.

You see, that's nice. I'd be down with that. I just want character moments instead of contextless wierdness ![]()

I'm another who was surprised by writer change, but I'm cool with it. The concept sounds very interesting. I'm now curious about the character who Gaider said he always wanted to write. Before this I assumed it was Cole, but now I'm guessing eiher Dorian or Solas.

I wasn't expecting Patrick to be the writer. I bet he'll do great though, if TME is anything to go by.
And yup, Cole and my Inquisitor are definitely going to get along, even if the fireplace is going to smell of turnips occasionally.
