Here ya go, and think of Cole as you listen to it.
You see, I always thought the first 1 minute of this song worked perfectly with Cole and his character. So sad yet touching.

I'm at work right now and I just CAN'T.
Lol I'm out of likes, but the feels!!

Wow wow wow Sera refuses to talk to "it".
I guess she's looking pretty nervous in the war-room picture/trailer where the female Inquisitor appears. (Considering she's next to Cole there) I'm interested to see her reasoning behind not talking to Cole.
(Also sorry, not sure if this is something that should be brought up in the Cole or Sera thread)
I'm so shocked that his writer isn't David Gaider! I wonder why the choice was made for Weekes to write him instead. I'm not saying I don't think he'll still be just as amazingly well written, but I would love to hear why they decided to go this direction.
Possibly an issue of just not having enough time - David might be handling other level plots, as well as whichever characters he's writing, and he might have much more work going on in the admin side of being Lead Writer.
(And as Patrick said, this is a chance to put his own spin on the character, since Cole has somewhat changed since Asunder.)
Or maybe he just felt like he'd already finished Cole and it was fitting to give someone else a shot at the character?
This is just my opinion (given the title change), but I think the mothering/fathering aspect folks have toward Cole misrepresents what this character really is. It's a spirit that is dangerous and powerful - and awesome. It's not a child. It's not even human.
Strange how there is a divide between those fans who either want to kill Cole or breastfeed him.
(But considering him as an LI would be "ludicrous!" lol. Ok...)
I agree with the statement that doting on him and treating him like a child is a bit... infantalizing and kinda creeps me out. He is not a human, he is not a child, he is a fade creature that has and can kill. He literally has the ability to will people to not notice as he slits their throats. Yes, he needs guidance and he desperately wants to be noticed and have friends. I just don't think he is a baby that needs protected. He can take care of himself.
[PW]: Oh, Maker, yes. Vivienne thinks Cole should be safely banished, and Sera refuses to talk to "it" entirely.
WTF SERA!!?!?!?!
NO! I was going to get with her but this... This is not okay! Isn't Sera also like a protector of the poor defenseless people!? That's the same as what Cole wants to do! Looks like my Inquisitor will be forever alone. ![]()
[PW]: Cole remains a work in progress, yes. Anyone who allows him to join the Inquisition (and because there are people whose response to him in Asunder was, "Demon? LOL NOPE," allowing him to join is optional) is going to hear about some weird things happening, with no one quite sure who put all those turnips in the fireplace or why the battlements are covered with loaves of bread.
um wat lol?
Invisible Robin Hood...? ![]()

I honestly don't mind at the moment as I imagine these are Sera's & Vivienne's first impressions/knee-jerk responses, etc. As the game goes on I expect some softening of feelings...maybe? Certainly Cole will show himself to be reliable in battle to them, anyways. I can't exactly fault people for being wary of a demon that has been shown to tamper with memory & can turn invisible.
Patrick Weekes...huh...didn't really expect that I guess.
I actually don't mind to be honest. I'm only about half way through The Masked Empire right now, but I've really liked how he's portrayed all of his characters so far :3
What I'm curious about is whether Sera's reaction towards Cole is meant to be a character flaw on her part, or if it's meant to be a warning to the player's that Cole isn't as benevolent as he seems to be, and Sera's our resident evil-detecting blood-hound.
He should just die to save his future victims' lives...
"Cole, why are there turnips in the fireplace?"
This almost reminds me of when I find my cats or dog messing with something completely random and something they shouldn't normally care about.
"Tyrant, why are you eating raw spinach? You're a cat."
NO! I was going to get with her but this... This is not okay! Isn't Sera also like a protector of the poor defenseless people!? That's the same as what Cole wants to do! Looks like my Inquisitor will be forever alone.
.....Cole is not defenseless... He is a parasite on the lose
NawwwwHe should just die to save his future victims' lives...
You called your cat 'Tyrant'?"Tyrant, why are you eating raw spinach? You're a cat."
after reading the interview, I'm getting more and more convinced that we'll see things like these
Seeing cole crouching on a tree branch overlooking some baby birds.
You ask a nearby party member of what's going on, they say he noticed a little bird on the ground, looked up and saw a nest and you pretty much can put two and two together.
then if you approach the tree you could hear Cole saying quietly to the birds "It's nice...having somewhere you belong to, right?"
little things like that.
I wonder if Sera and Vivienne will be unable to see Cole since they're scared or hostile towards him? That'd be hilarious if you have either of them in the party with Cole, and the third companion starts talking to Cole and Sera/Viv is all "What? Are you talking to me? Who are you looking at?".
Hey Russian Berserker, why don't you stick to your Cole Hate thread instead of trying to rile up Cole fans here?
Nawwww
Cheer up. Patrick *did* say he was optional.
You called your cat 'Tyrant'?
Let's just say when he was a kitten he was insufferable. ![]()
I'm all giddy now, Iron Bull and Cole are going to be friennndsss ![]()
Those two are totally going to be in my party the majority of the time ![]()
And If all goes according to plan, my first playthrough will be a Femquisitor Qunari mage so I can just alternate the last companion as the mood strikes me xD

Or maybe she just doesn't trust demonic things which can play with your memories and be invisible
Like, you know, most people with common sense would react in her place

I'm hoping that's just the first response too. With Vivenne I can understand, but Sera? Other then her just being '2spoopy' towards Cole I currently can not think of a good reason. Not unless she's used to a lot of her friends getting possessed or encountered him in the past or something. Sure hope at least one of their opinions can be swayed.
edit: Or if she (sera) just sees him as pure evil

I actually really like the idea behind IB too, but after the interview with his voice actor, I was worried about him being not ok with the whole demon thing. Now that we know IB is ok with Cole, I think IB just landed a perma spot on my team with Cole. ![]()
I don't know what they're gonna do with Cole; whether he's good all along or evil all along or he could go either way depending on our actions, but honestly at this point I'm kind of hoping Cole turns out to be evil.
And it's not out of any spite or dislike of Cole or his fans.
I just think they've baited this trap so well, they've suckered so many people in so brilliantly that to not pay it off with Cole turning out to be evil would be a damn shame. They've got the perfect wounded gazelle gambit going here and I'd hate to see it not capitalized on.
Let's just say when he was a kitten he was insufferable.
I have a husky dumbo rat Called Hydra.
Try and guess why. Naughty girl.

I can just see Iron Bull trying to teach Cole to be a man or something.

PW: "In Bull's mind, Cole is a weird squirrelly kid who just needs a night of good drinks and bad women to get him sorted out."
