I think that out of the 12, 9 are companions.

Those 9 are:

Iron Bull

Cassandra

Sera

Grey Warden

Varric

Cole

Vivienne

Dramatic Hand Guy

Solas

Important NPCs are:

Cullen (He doesn't have any weapons) He could be the War Strategist

Lelianna (Bard): Espionage/Diplomacy

Scribe Girl Trade

So out of the twelve, there are 5 females and 7 males.

LI prediction:

Companions:

Straight:

Cassandra

Solas

Gay:

Dramatic Hand Guy

Sera

NPC:

Bi:

Cullen

Scribe Girl

What's with the nicknames for Iron Bull, Vivienne, and Leliana?

Also, Cullen will probably represent the Inquisition's military, Leliana the espionage, and Scribbles the trade.

Did they say anything about trade in DAI?

Yeah, a long time ago. Last year's PAX I believe when showing off how you manage Keeps. When you get one, you can spec it to focus on Military, Espionage, or Trade.

Ok, thanks, I guess that would fit with the 3 extra NPCs.

Kinda doubting there'll be gay-only companion romances.

I think scribe girl is going to be Kelly Chambers/Samantha Traynor.

That's a good point. I was originally thinking that they would represent the Templars, Chantry and mages, respectively... but I like your idea.

It's just my prediction based on what Mr. Gaider said about fairness. Also, we know that with the talk about resource limitation, there were originally only have 4 all bis companions. If they want to add in sexual orientation, then the extra pair would be needed, thus 2 NPC romances. If Mr. Gaider considered NPC romances to be not as in-dept as companions due to limited screentime, then likely that both NPCs would be of the same sexual orientations, otherwise, one orientation would have more screentime than the other in term of romance. If Cullen as an NPC would at least be bi or straight then so would the other NPC to avoid complains of unfairness. In term of marketing, I don't think they would let the straight option which has the larger fanbase be glorified housekeper, so that's why I think the 2 NPCs would be bi.

Cullen is romanceable so he's likely a companion. I think Leliana is an adviser for the Thedas at War thing, but I'm not certain.

He's the only one who doesn't have a weapon out of the confirmed companions. He's likely be an NPC. I would love for him to be a companion though.

All known companions have weapons, with Dorian(drmatic hands) and Cole(Dante) having weapons. Cullen, Leliana and Scribbles have no weapons,

I don't think she'd be lesbian only since it would make Cullen gay only if they're both NPC LIs.

I don't think so. Three companions of each class has already been confirmed, and we have three warriors either confirmed (Cassandra and Iron Bull) or seen in game, in party (the Grey Warden). Cullen's probably an NPC romance.

Romancable Cullen? Likely.

Cullen as a companion? Highly unlikely.

Yeah, if this was only about the Mage-Templar War, I'd say you are more right but since this encompasses several conflicts and the Inquisition's goals have nothing to do with any in particular, it doesn't make sense to have such a focus on one conflict.

I don't think she'd be lesbian only since it would make Cullen gay only if they're both NPC LIs.

I think they meant 'be the Inquisitor's secretary-like role'.

Why not? Not all of Cullen's fans are girls, you know.

Just like with Anders, they could do the whole "We never said he wasn't bi".

Or Kaidan. He dated girls before and wasn't fond of the idea of lesbian or threesome in ME1.
