Will Templars/Reavers continue to be ignored?

Now I'm trying to figure which suits my planned Inquisitor as a character and I keep coming up with champion... which just feels sort of plain.

Reavers, at least, are very distinctive when they're in combat.

There aren't any physical distinctive traits to either Templars or Reavers, why would people treat you differently? Unless you straight up tell it to them, they will ahve no way of knowing what you are. That is also one of the reasons that a mage doesn't need unique dialogue paths for every conversation in the game.
If you're the leader of the Inquisition, people are probably going to talk about your ability to cast fireballs, your ability to suppress magic, or your inclination to dine on the flesh of your enemies to heal yourself.
Word travels.

Doubtful. Chances are any who witnesses the Inquisitor doing his thing, is either his ally or going to wound up dead soon. Add to that the fact that even a mundane Inquisitor would probably end up with rumors about him being a mage, a demon, and Abomination and all sorts of other things. Because that is how word travels with primitive and unreliable news sources.
So I don't think we should get our hopes all up in the chaffy for the specializations to be an integral part of the story. It might get mentioned once or twice, and even get some unique story aspects too, but nothing grand.

Yes, in the real world, people will react to things that aren't true or completely misunderstand aspects of you. Is that really what you want in a game? Instead of people reacting to a specialization, other characters just hold random beliefs about your character that aren't true and react to that.
I can't help but see reacting to PC choices and specialization as being a better use of zots.

There is a significant difference between player choice and what specialization he happened to pick. Obivously people who used to live in the town you recently burned down should react to that, but why would they react to you being a Templar? It is all about context, and there are disappearingly few situations where Farmer Insignificantus of House Nowhere should hold any intimate knowledge about your Inquisitor. You companions on the other hand might bring up some fo the specializations, while others doesn't seem to lend themselves as great story elements.
However even these mentions would be of a limited nature, since as mentioned, not all of the specializations make for good story elements. There are obviously much more meat on the bone storywise on something like Necromancer or Reaver, than on Champion or Artificer, so the storylines cannot be huge expansive things.
You MAY get unique dialogue options in certain situations based on your spec, but in that case YOU are the one bringing it up in the conversation or event, and not the person or event bringing it on you.

I'm curious about Reavers too. Reavers, like blood mages, use their own health to fuel their skills. They seem to have discarded blood magic because probably we won't have health regen after battle, so I don't know what is the logic behind reaver now.

Makes it seem like using Magic is fine as long it's not a Mage using it lol.

Just putting that out there.

You can reply, (if you have a magic sensing class it seems), that you feel something off about the alienage too.
He'll claim you're a templar.
Tried it a couple weeks ago with a dwarf that didnt go templar- the option wasn't even available.
So it isn't much, but it's something at least.

Some one with mystical abilities might be able to sense a difference in templars....possibly lyrium dealers could see the physical affects of lyrium on your body.
That being said; by and large being a templar isn't something most will be able to "see". Sans armor anyways.
Reavers on the other hand are supposed to give off some kind of scary aura/vibe of psychotic evil kind of deal, at basically all times....

I'm sure those peasants you saved will be really happy when they see you rip open some mage's throat and suck her dry while radiating shockwaves of pure spiritual agony.

I wonder how they are going to portray Reavers this time. Are you going to actually eat people or are you going to drain their life energy?
