I'd really love to hear  about them before preordering or buying this game.

Origin DAI store page currently has only two supported languages - Polish and Russian.

 

Are we going to have international English version available?

The only people who do that who I can think of are Insomniac. I doubt this'll happen because it'll be a waste of time and resources.

In Spain we have (in most AAA games, like Skyrim, unkown for DA:I) only two options:

 

-Purchasing "dubbed" Spanish version with a total of... ten! voice actors that do VO for every AAA game. 

-Having to "pirate" the "international" or English version.

 

I know there are plenty of reasons why this has to be limited, but my god do I wish I could play this game without having to bear listening to the same 10 voice actors over and over again. 

 

I really, really hope there is the option to buy the "international" or "US" version in steam origin spanish store.

After reading this topic I went to check on Origins and the only language supported is Portuguese, That's cool but i really want the English version, would be awesome if someone from Bioware could answer this.

Will get Latin American Spanish, we haven't had Castillean dubs in a very long time. Last castillean dub game that I played was age of mythology.

Wait, what? I do have the Spanish version (from Spain, that's it) of DA:O and DA2, and the games aren't dubbed, they are subbed. The games use the original English voices, it's the subtitles and menus the ones which are in Spanish. Or did I miss some (terrible) news about the upcoming DA:I? I hope you are right, I certainly remember my bad experience with Skyrim... but, to be honest, I haven't heard anything that can justify my fears regarding this issue. You know how AAA titles are "expected" to be dubbed in Spain nowdays...

I know that Mass Effect 3 had an english dialog DLC for free. I have no idea how it is on X1, but on the PS4 most games simply use the language the system is on. For example Killzone 3, COD Ghosts and AC IV were all in English when I turned my PS4 to English.

It's an English copy that is (supposed to be) available all over the world. "International' referred to 'version' not to 'English' in my case, my bad if that was not clear enough.

 

The first time I had to deal with that was ME3, when I had the only option - locked  Russian UI+subs (no Russian VAs, thanks the Maker). There's a way to 'fix' that, and it's not my fault that I had to do that in order to see the original texts.  

 

With all my respect to the localization team - I'd rather read original words by David Gaider, Jen Hepler and other writers. Same for VAs.

 

 I understand that sometimes price can be different in different regions, but steam somehow manages restricting regions and still gives English as an option.

It's better, indeed. But I don't see why would they hard-lock subs and UI (as they did with ME3). I play mostly with subs, because I like it this way. I can always read and understand something I mishear. Seeing translation instead of the text only distracts, not helps. Not to mention that  translation is usually leaves much to be desired.

 

Anyway, i'd like to get an official answer on this matter.

Can't say anything about the consoles, but for PC it was not a 'DLC', it was a pack with all possible TLKs, including English one. It was not official. One had to reinstall it with each ME3 update.

Err..it seems Origin has some problem with setting different languages for games . :s

I'm thinking of canceling my pre order , and just buy a material copy on Amazon.

I really don't want to pull my hair out on release date because I can't play the game in English , I never had to worry about this with Steam.

You only need to click on game property and select what you want.

It seems with Origins , you need to change the language for the client and cross your finger it works.

Oh well, I knew that I could download it from he Xbox live Marketplace. But isn't it the same on Origins? If your Origins client is in English, isn't it asking you on which language you'd like to install a game? It didn't work for Origins .... on EAs Origins, but it did work with DA:II and every Mass Effect game.

Does not work like that. I use English UI, but all the store is in Russian anyway. Must be IP-bound.

 

I'm not going to turn the thread into 'Steam vs Origin' flames, really. But it's true, that there are many region-locked games with English.

It used to, I had no problems with older games (ME1, ME2, DAO, DA2). ME3 had only one option. It was either buying what you are told to or not buying at all. No option to pay the US price etc.

I like to play in the original language, first because spanish translations are lacking and second because listening to english while reading spanish is more distracting than any help.

 

DA:O and DA2 weren't voiced in spanish, but texts where translated. That said I was able to install the game in full english with my copy...

Oh, yes, Skyrim, that could have been done better. And The Witcher, the first game was horribly dubbed. Not every game ends up like that, but I suppose it's a matter of localization costs.

 

However, so far Bioware games have followed the "subbed" path. The whole Mass Effect series, Dragon Age, Jade Empire... I prefer it that way.

OMGhods...

This shiet again. I just remembered its ALWAYS a problem here in Poland. I had to jump hoop and loops since ME2 to play games with original english. I hate localizations with passion since they are ALWAYS sub par. WHY are we SENTENCED to bear the awfulness? Why Origin cant give us what we want, a choice?

 

I will be extra carefull with DAI for several reasons, but now you reminded me of another :/

 

If I buy DAI, its only in english. I dont want to mess with registry keys again just to play the game the way it ment to be.

I just looked into the german origin-store for DAI: we can chose between german, english, french, spanish and italian. I assume this means you have the same options in the spanish store. The same options are for other games (titanfall, bf4).

This is one of my biggest worries, but it'll probably turn out to be nothing. I'm moving to Japan in July and I don't know if I'll be able to get a digital copy of the game in English due to region issues with Origin.
