So it has been said that gone are the days of player sexual characters however does this mean that there will be no Bi characters? And if there are no Bi characters does this mean that there will be exclusively same sex romances? Has Bioware changed their stance on offering same sex exclusive romances? Of course this does leave one wondering which characters will be available in same sex romances and which won't so for something different I thought I might create a thread speculating on the sexual orientation of certain characters.

 

 

Out of all the characters revealed so far who do you think will be romance options and more importantly which way do you think they will swing?

Why? Are people on these forums not comfortable discussing the possibility of same sex relations? Bioware does include them in their games so why should we be afraid to discuss them on the forums?

You know as well as I do that in 3 pages this will turn into about Cullen.

And throwing it out their Cassandra is heterosexual.

I'd imagine the very first two LIs they announce would be heterosexual.

Straight Male - Cullen (Since he has such a huge female following)

Bi Male - Solas (Elf for both male and female)

Gay Male - DHMG (Only LI kinda equivalent in looks to Cullen; I doubt Bioware would let gay males get someone too drastically different from what is usually offered)

 

Straight Female - Cassandra (Because Sera, I think, will be the bi female)

Bi Female - Sera (Same as Solas)

Lesbian - Scibbles (No real reason)

If we can accurately guess the orientation, then that would suggest there's a bit of stereotyping going on.  Aside, of course, from the fact that we know that Cullen and Cassandra like people of the opposite sex. 

 

So I hope to be surprised.

My guesses, for what they're worth:

 

Bisexual Male: Cullen

Straight Male: Solas

Gay Male: Dramatic Hands Moustache Guy Who Is Probably Called Dorian

 

Bisexual Female: Scribbles

Straight Female: Cassandra

Gay Female: Sera

 

Or they could make the straight LIs the NPCs, in which case Cullen and Scribbles would be the straight ones and Cassandra and probably Solas would be bi. I seriously doubt they'll have Cullen straight and Scribbles as the lesbian - that would mean that two of the romances for female PCs would be NPCs. (There is no way Cullen is the gay male love interest. If he is, I will eat my Inquisitor helmet. Nothing to say he's not bisexual, though.)

 

Or they could shock and amaze me by having some combinations of romanceable characters that doesn't consist of Cullen, Cassandra, Solas, DHMG, Sera and Scribbles.

The path of least controversy lies with making non-companion NPCs the bisexual options. However, I don't think that it's necessary at all from a game design perspective.

 

Cole, Iron Bull, Grey Warden, Varric, Vivienne, and Leliana all have valid reasons to not be romanceable, as opposed to the other unknowns.

 

Iron Bull can still potentially be a romance option instead of DHMG or Scribbles, although the former I will loathe because he would be one wasted delicious piece of @$$ and the latter will make the gender LI split 4-2.

I agree with this but I would say Varric is the straight LI because he is the poster boy. I am not expecting munch from them really at this point. If they make two F!Inquisitor romances the NPCs, I would not even be surprised.

Actually I think it is possible that one of Gaider's LIs will reealize they have a different sexuality. Based on some posts...
Either Cassandra or Cullen. Both previously had an interest in people of opposite sex so maybe in DAI they will end up as gay

Cullen, DHMG, iron bull, Grey warden, Cole,Varric straight
Solas bi
Cassandra, sera, Leliana, Vivienne bi
Scribbles lesbian
Diseased Nug gay

I really, really want a Varric romance, but I don't think we're getting one . BioWare have never written a romanceable dwarf, ever. (In fact, in their fantasy games to date it's been humans and elves and one stray Tielfling all the way down.) I would like them to surprise me.

This gives male PC's 4 companion options while leaving female PC's with only 2... This does not bode well for peaceful forums.

There is a guy that crush on Cassandra in the movie and she's not exactly indifferent, but at the same time, she doesn't blush when said guy has his hand on her tight (even if she is embarrassed). The scene was cliché romance, but her was tuned down from the cliché.

 

There is also Varric's comment in DA2, but Cassandra says the same thing regardless of Hawke's gender, it's Varric who think she is into M!Hawke (and he made a few wrong assumptions about her before that point, assumptions she didn't bother to correct). I take it more as Varric being unable to size Cassandra than a hint at her sexuality.

 

The most we have for being into guy, is that she loved her brother dearly. Until proved otherwise her sexuality is brocon to me.

Actually no Cassandra says different things if you are the F!hawke, it is more in the line of respect and not crush. Still think she is the straight option because till now that is how bioware had done it, poster girl, straight girl. Of course there is DA 2 but you could romance everyone.
