What makes a racial divide, and why are we not civilized enough yet to drop the races and call everyone a human if it originated only to say that someone is superior? Why don't we say light skinned instead of white, and dark skinned instead of black etc?

No one says lightskinned instead of white, because that's not what lightskinned means. Anyway, don't ask me why other people do things. I'm not a sociologist. As to what makes a racial divide, it's plenty of things, mostly biological but all very much always a part of your DNA. Magic can go away. Genes cannot.

No but really, mages can be considered a race. Feel free to disagree.

No, they really can't.

How are they a race then, pray tell? I gave my reasons why they are not. Give me your reasons why. Unless you don't have any. In that case, this thread is pretty much done, since it has nothing to do with the OP at this point.

Yes they can be considered a race.

Can two white people produce a black child? No.

Can two nonmages produce a mage? Yes.

Ergo it's not a race.

Because you were burned out from being a voice of reason last night?  Excellent posts by the way.

Your opposition has already done me the kindness of such.

Unless you'd like to delve into a pedantic and semantic discourse, which I do not.

I suppose that we are done.

I see you can't counter what I said. So we can all agree mages are not a race then, mkay.

In reference to our templar friends I prefer "Bucketheaded Apes". Mainly because of their savage tendencies and their constant screw-ups at performing their self ascribed duties.

Sigh..

Can two white people produce a black child? No.
Can two nonmages produce a mage? Yes.

Ergo it's not a race.

Every child is different from their parents and has deeper ancestor roots. I asked what makes a race. Two parents don't make the same child as them.

Yes they do. Unless they were black to begin with, there is no chance that they can produce a black child.

To answers OP's question:

Plebian.

Source?

I can't find it. It was a long time ago. Maybe even wasn't Gaidar who said it but some Bioware employee.

Mages don't have one considering that provoking your their who holds their leash would dangerous not to mention that mages have little to talk about their superiority when they are dogs for non-mages...

Mages aren't a race, they are mutants within their own species.

Staying on the topic seems for the best, rather than getting into some of the real world stickiness that this is headed for.

On topic: My word for non-mages?  Squib.

Why must you take from me, Natashina?

I give you nothing but love and respect and you spurn me so.

To quote Lauryn Hill, "Who do I have to be, to get some reciprocity?"

That...That...is probably closer to the truth than anything else said in this thread.

I want dev confirmation. I tire of these circular arguments.

Tell us, are they or are they not a race?
