Theory... the inquisitor is Morrigan's child.

I really hope the Inquisitor isn't Morrigan's OGB(I really can't see this happening), or a spirit or anything else along those lines.

Is it too much to ask for your character to be the sole survivor on the basis of being a badass and not some lame abomination that just so happens to save the day.

But the theory still works if you accept that they'll retcon the Warden's race, that they'll retcon the elf+human=elf thing, and that time moves faster in the fade.

Yea, we've covered this.

"Oh, your character was a female dwarf who ditched Alistair for Loghain and went with the ultimate sacrifice ending? Too bad, the canon is now a male human noble who made Alistair King, banged the stuffing out of Morrigan and knocked her up with the Inquisitor. Buy more DLC."

I think the chances of Bioware going that route are practically nil.

While I doubt that the inquisitor is the Child of Morrigan, I'm almost certain that she--and the OGB--are going to show up specifically BECAUSE of the Inquisitor's ability. Nobody really seems to know what Morrigan wanted with the baby; it's quite obvious that saving the Warden or Alistair wasn't her only motivation, as she'll mention the dark ritual regardless of player approval. Morrigan wants power--or maybe it's even, at this point, Flemeth who wants that power. We can't say for certain.

So, why would a witch with the power of an old god at her disposal want a being with the power to enter the fade at will, and possibly open and close tears into it? That's the real question, I think. Personally, I believe that Flemeth--and possibly Morrigan's goal now--are to re-storm the Black City, with the power of a cleansed old god at their disposal. Whether their intent is to gain the power of a true god, one with mastery over the fade, or to cleanse it, is up for speculation, as is this crazy fan theory I've cooked up here.

EDIT: In playthroughs where Morrigan doesn't have the old god baby, finding a way to harness the power of the fade through some cooked up ritual would be an incredible power in your arsenal.

Even going along with your theory it would only really make sense if your Warden was the same race as your Inquisitor. I'm running more along the lines of you're a spirit inhabiting or cohabiting the body of the inquisitor, maybe that's why Cole is a companion.

Ah the old "THE OGB MUST BE CANON AND STUFF!" thread.

Gaider already shot down the DR not happening if it was not done.

This will only work if OGB grew up in the place on the other side of the Eluvian, and if time moves slower in that place.

Only then can you justify a 10 year old fully-grown man, because 10 years in Thedas, may be 30 years beyond the Eluvian. But we don't know if time moves slower beyond the Eluvian.

Plus DR is optional, the Inquisitor is a fixed aspect of the story. So no, Inquisity is not OGB

I don't know, games dealing with magic, spirits and demons always have a big element where the gamer applies the suspension of disbelief. So, your analogy of the growth of the child in the Eluvian is very plausible. OGB or no, it seems the thread hinges on this OGB as the key part. Some even make this aspect implausible if the DR was rejected and Morrigan went her merry way before the final battle with the AD. However, the epilogue cards at the end of DA:O suggest that Morrigan was seen traveling the countryside with a child in tow, even if the DR wasn't performed. Now, whether this was an oversight in continuity, or a planned effect for the future sequels remains to be seen.

One thing I don't get is why players who did the DR are so adamant on forcing on/shoehorning in the OGB on US and Redeemer players.

I don't see the other two groups asking Bioware to canonize the Warden or Alistair killing themselves or Loghain's recruitment and death.

I only think they care because the DR was arguably one of the most important choices in DA:O so a lot of them were kind of frustrated to know that something so significant is being ignored. I've seen plenty on the opposite side arguing plenty of ridiculous things, but this is BSN. As Fiend said, I think people who did it, just want to see that represented in some way; of course it poses significant problems lorewise given the nature of it.

That's the thing it's only significant if you did it otherwise it's a footnote.

I agree it should have an impact if you did it but I disagree with Bioware writing the game around it.

Even ignoring all the other points, I thought the Inquisitor was supposed to be "an indeterminate age between 20 and 40" or something.

The OGB's a boy, around 9 years old, and probably doesn't exist in some playthroughs.
