Now, like all of you, I saw the trailer for DA:I. And it looks freaking fantastic! But one thing really irked me and that was when Cassandra put up a sword to the Inquisitor. Granted he (or she for my fellow ladies) was the only survivor to a massacre of, supposedly, thousands of people. But why in the world would you threaten someone who "walked" out of the Fade. 

 

In my opinion, that's pretty detrimental to one's health.

 

So my question is how would your Inquisitor react in that situation? And what would they say as well?

 

My inquisitor would probably be a little irritated to being threatened after a traumatic event and say something along the lines of, "Get that sword out of my face, Seeker. Or you will not see the end of this day."

Then i'd say:" What?! no dinner or dance? Straight to the action aren't we?"

 

and then proceed to grin and say: "But i say Rooowr, I do love a Woman in uniform!"

Well in my personal tentative head canon for my Inquisitor, he is a Dalish tasked with protecting his keeper at the peace conference. Then due to the explosion the keeper is killed making my Inqusitor so distraught over failing in his duty that he welcomes the idea of Cass slitting his throat.

*glances up at the breach* "If I'm the only threat you see, Seeker, then you either need a new pair of spectacles or a primer on the meaning of the word 'threat.'"

It depends on how combat capable I felt my character was. I know the character won't know what level they actually are but a person does have a rough idea of how good at combat they are. I for example wouldn't even rate as a beginner because I have so very little experience. Plus how bad of condition you're in at the moment. Did those demons manage to rough you up a bit? If you're a mage how do you feel about your mana?

 

If my character felt rather on the capable side, she has some noteworthy kills under her belt perhaps even some templars, plus she wasn't banged up she would be a bit more confrontational. "I understand that this must look strange and I'd be happy to explain what I can. That said. If you continue to threaten me I will defend myself." I just love it when the quiet polite ones show they have a backbone of steel though and chops to match.

 

I nearly laughed my head off when in an old cartoon Daffy threatened Porky. "Listen you have 32 teeth would you like to go for 16?" Porky responds by picking him up by the throat. "Are you threatening me sir? Because if you are then by Gumphrey I'm going to." Que Daffy screaming for help.

Cassandra is no slouch either. Just look at Dawn of the Seeker. And she's had two decades to improve since them.

Inquisitor: "I recall nothing in the Fade that was nearly as fierce. It'd be a shame to end this journey just as things were getting... exciting."

 

Cass: [blush] [lowers sword]

Well I hope we could use the "emotion " wheel.

Inquisitor looks shocked/scared.

I mean there's not a lot of  things to say when someone is putting a knife under your throat.

I would love a sort of "renegade interrupt," right at that moment.

Whilst Cassandra is distracted with this statement, my savvy Inquisitor will grab the sword out of her hand with lightning speed and then hold it to her throat. He'll light a cigar and then say...

 

"Looks like I'm in control now, frenchie. Incidentally, have you ever seen Misery? I'm a big fan of yours Cassandra..."

 

The scene ends with my Inquisitor riding off into the sunset with Cassandra tied up on the back of the horse.

Well, her leadership did just die and the Inquisitor could be responsible for all she knows.

My inquisitor will be female qunari. So.... "No.. I'm here because of the Qun's demand."

Hopefully, there is a "snark" dialog option, otherwise I got all diplomacy.

 

Unfortunately, I have a bit too much meta-knowledge of Cassandra to know that it's just her way of greeting someone she doesn't know in a suspicious location...and I actually love it.

But the Qunari Inquisitors are not followers of the Qun but are Vashoth.

Or something along the lines of "Sod off." If you wanted to go that route. Or give that look. You know the one that moms usually give  their children if they're misbehaving? *shivers* That look could turn blood to ice.

I don't like it ...but at least my inquisitor and Varric will have something in common from the start.

I hope we'll be able to have some "anger/anxiety management " reunion with the Inquisition party.

Cole and Cass seem to need this badly.

I think Cassandra's reaction was warranted - we're the only witness and survivor to a magical explosion that killed thousands of people, it'd be weird if she wasn't suspicious and hostile. 

 

(Also if I was the Inquisitor and genuinely had no idea why I survived, I'd sure as heck not want to ****** off one of the only people left who could help me find out.)
