My canon Inquisitor will be impressed - people shouldn't just trust someone that suspicious without really thinking about this, testing her (or him) in some way and seeing what that person is up to. I'll use the clever dialogue option (if it is there) and prepare for fighting back.

I enjoyed it in the Game of Thrones RPG when you bump into Cersei and depending on how you interact with her, she can end the game.  Same with Morinth.

 

BioWare did it as well in Knights of the Old Republic.

When you're low level and first meet Calo Nord in a bar he says to leave him alone or he's going to count to three.

 

You've got 3 dialogue opportunities  to back off -- if you don't he kills you.

It was fantastic.

 

The Old Republic did it in the Imperial Agent storyline.

There is one point at low level if you refuse to kneel before a certain Sith Lord you die and respawn elsewhere.

 

More consequences for foolish choices is a good thing.

I know that this is supposed to be from the Inquisitor's POV, but when I read that, I could hear Varric's voice.

Me too.  I don't play male characters often, but I'd be happy to do so after my first playthrough.  I know I'll be messing with the voices and such in the CC.
