With that sexual segregation I think it will happen eventually. It just too juicy to pass.

I like the romance shutdown option.  I think it breathed new life into the companions that weren't interested in the PC.  And it's more sensible than simply not being able to flirt with them at all.  Obviously this will lead to some heartbreak for PCs who have their eye set on those that will ultimately reject them, but I thought it was a fun element.  Particularly if you can have an ongoing flirty banter that goes absolutely nowhere.

well, as a general thing I am inclined to say "NO"

but more specific, I would love to see some companions turning the PC down if he/she does something they can't accept because it might not fit their personality (at least if the PC is not able to convince them - as I don't like immovable "objects" that are stuck in their views with no chance to show them something else!)

Like say:

Your PC is a bloodmage (or a templar!) and you want to romance the templar (or bloodmage/apostate) - and as we know those character in a normal setting would not like each other (chantry doctrine forbids apostates and bloodmages are especially hated by the templars and templars capture apostates and kill bloodmages, so they are not liked in return either!)...on the other hand, if you are a very charitable character and generally ok (behave in a way the companion thinks is OK) then you should of course be able to crack their shell (have them stop refusing you ;)

greetings LAX

ps: for a character to just flat out be un-romancable, well I am against it (at least if he/she is a companion, as it is wasted potential - unless the character we are talking about is either the dog or something like a golem or a fade spirit in a tree or something)
