You say that as if retcons and sexuality changes haven't happened in this franchise before.
Please provide an example of someone who's show interest in members of the opposite sex and then stopped doing so.

I find 'one solid sexual orientation' a very bizarre way of phrasing it.
I'm taking this article to mean it's 2/2/2 though, which is very much fine by me.
This article was filled with weird or poorly phrased statements imo. Still, allan helped to clear a few things up in the last thread.
Maybe he'll do so again in this one, before it gets locked.
Cassandra and Cullen are straight at least with previous knowledge from the movie, DA 2 and DA:O.
I'm not sure a kiss on the cheek counts as confirmation of sexuality. It could've easily been platonic. I kiss people on the cheek all the time, it doesn't mean I fancy them, it means I've a lot of friends who greet each other like that.

Well I could point out anders between awakening and dragon age 2, but apparently people frown upon that example and hide behind developer statements that occur years after the fact. Other, larger retcons have similarly taken place in which the devs have similarly brushed off, such as leiliana surviving her fight with the warden.
Its a practice of biowares I accept that some choices will have their consequence altered for the sake of the over all plot and game. I just don't pretend like it doesn't happen by using the "Well you weren't able to check" excuse.
And speaking of anders, is there any proof that, like anders, cassandra and cullen are both "bisexual"(in quotations because of anders behavior in Da2, and for no other reason.) and simply haven't expressed their interests in both genders on screen yet?

Wait thats actually it? the cheek kiss? oh okay I thought I missed a deleted scene or something how people were talking about it. neat I guess
I did that like 4 times in the past week and I hope Im not dating any of those people now.

Nope, you didn't miss anything. All this fuss and "confirmation" about Cassandra's sexual orientation is over a kiss on the cheek. ![]()

If they stick w/ tradition then Cassandra will only be romanceable by male Inquisitor only as she is the lead (or seems to be) female companion. Dawn Star, Morrigan, Ashley, Miranda ... Of course there is nothing stopping them from breaking from tradition.
What we got here is a perfect example of different social norms and cultures clashing perspective. XD
That, or some people really have a problem with exaggeration, which might be the case for a lot of stuff on this site.
EDIT: Shock and awe, as Cassandra and Cullen were both confirmed as unromancable by the player.
Riots ensued.

This is also why I'm pulling for ladies-only!Cassandra. Wouldn't that be a twist on convention?

Hum maybe people miss her conversation with Varric about the M!Hawke. If she was bisexual or gay, the people that wrote the game would made it differently no? I doubt Varric is traditionalist when it comes to sex or gender, so no. Also Anders does not count you can romance him as female, there is no character that "turns" gay only bisexual.

You forgot Bastila ![]()

I am actually more interested in Vivienne than Cassandra, to be honest.
In order for there to be a twist on convention, you'd need to acknowledge convention.
Fair enough!

That was just Varric. In no way that confirms Cass's sexuality.
Not interested in romance this time (women are kind of "meh" in DA:I) but it's nice to see the variety is back.
Page 2 and insults are already flying.
We're falling behind schedule.

Plus, while he uses the words "Hero Worship" for a female Hawke, Cassandra still gets that dopey look on her face. That bit of dialogue told me nothing about her sexual orientation.

People are confusing characters with actual real people that wrote that dialog, why change it base on gender? People think please lol and why not make the mage kiss in the movie with the girl. You do not need to see characters kiss full on and have sex to at least pick up on the clues. Next you are going to say that Cullen is gay too base on DA:O.
I knew it. This means the only gay male LI will be the whiny emo or offensive whoreish stereotype again and the staight male LI will be the one I wan't to romance but can't.
Bioware continues their trend of giving me blue balls.

If I, as a straight male, can romance Zevran with a male mage in DA:O, you should be able to romance whoever with a different type of character too.
I still really don't like this. Having herosexual companions offered the greatest possible choice to players at the lowest development cost. Restricting sexuality in this way has no benefit beyond satisfying those who insisted on interpreting herosexuality as "everyone is bi", which wasn't the only available interpretation.
If the problem didn't ever really exist, why should we all have to pay the price to fix it?

What if I don't wan't to play a female character?

What clues? Cass and Regalyan start off in conflict with one another because Cass dislikes Mages and then their friendship develops. Just because there is a male and female lead in a film doesn't mean they will end up together.
I am thinking about real people who wrote that scene and I still just see two friends, with one, Regalyan, perhaps developing feelings based on his blush.
As I said before, I kiss friends on the cheek all the time. It's a sign of friendship.

Then play as a male one, and miss out one one of the romances. The same thing would happen to me if I didn`t want to play a female character either.
